Burma Shave road signs.

There was a BBQ joint in Clewiston, FL, that used the same kind of signs to promo their restaurant.

Geez., I remember me and my ex buying one of these in the 90s. I definitely remember this info on the box. Dang this thing was heavy.

Hmm, judging by yours and others' posts, I must be the outlier here. We had Middle School for grades 6-8. High School was (obviously) 9-12.
Never referred to it as Jr High, but we knew the term.
LOL! I think we all have had at least one class like that. Some teachers we liked, others...not so much. And the feeling was mutual on occasion.I [bleep]ing hated that class as much as she hated having me in it.
It was an elective and I took it in the 9th grade. Tough teacher (who CARES if I'm sitting upright with my arms extended at 90 degree angles?) but valuable skill; glad I took it.
I think a lot of it depends on when and where you went to school. The high school I went to for my junior and senior years was 9-12
From 3rd grade to partway through 6th grade I was in Idaho, and they had a Junior High, grades 7-8-9. Then I was in Indiana to finish 6th grade and it was a Middle School, 6-7-8. Then I was in Colorado for 7th grade and it was a private Catholic school, grades 2-8. After that I was in Texas for 8th grade, it was a Junior High, grade 6-7-8.
So anyway, things lack consistency. Except for 6-7-8th grade science. I had Earth Science all 3 grades. Three different states(the latter part of 6th grade had the Earth Science), three different years, exactly the same textbook each time.

When I went to school we only had primary (1-7) and secondary (1st year, 2nd, 3rd, leaving, Matric.) I failed Leaving and had to repeat. It was the best as it meant that I ditched Asian History and took up Music, the rest, as they say, is History. (Yes, pun intended)
Yep, I think we were the exception out on Vancouver Island... I know some of my cousins on the east coast had "grade 13" even!
The old Mark III. I used to have one in ‘83. It decided to crap out on me in mid stream while in Alaska during my road band years. Never got it fixed. Sounded good when it worked.
