Double Bass Thinking about trying Obligatos - Solo or Regular?

Hi all - I've been working through whatever posts I can find on Obligatos. Thinking of trying them on my Eminence EUB to address recent issues with knuckle/finger pain on my left pointer finger. Because of the short distance between the bridge and tailpiece, the Eminence tends towards a stiffer feel than regular DB. Right now I'm using Spiro Solos and they are too stiff - by way of comparison, I am using Zyex lights on my Shen hybrid DB, and the Spiro solos on the Eminence feel way stiffer. So I am wondering if the Obligatos would be worth trying, but not sure whether to go regular or solo gauge. Would appreciate any thoughts from anyone that has used both.

If Spiro solos feel too stiff, than go for solo Obligatos.
They work fine at orchestra pitch.

Decided to try a different route first, since everything I do with the EUB is amplified, I think that any string that feels good to play I can make it sound good. I asked Mark Golihur for some suggestions, and he thought the Obligatos might work, or Pirastro Gold Slaps, but he also suggested Corelli solos, which his dad used to use due to similar hand problems. At less than 1/2 the price, I thought they’d be worth a shot, so I ordered a set. If they don’t work then it’s on to the Obligato solos. Will keep you posted.

Either Innovation Golden Slaps or Pirastro Evah (Pirazzi) Slaps. Which did you mean?
The Evah Slaps are bowable, in a certain way, the Golden Slaps hardly at all (just possible with a lot of rosn on the bowed part of the string, not at all without).

Update - the Corellis arrived and I installed them today. They're pretty nice strings - pretty thin gauge as I expected, but supple and very easy on my left hand. They sound just fine, considering that everything that I do with this bass (Eminence EUB) is amplified. And bowing is decent too. So thanks to @Mark Gollihur as always for his recommendation. For now the Spiro solos go back on the shelf. I played a gig last night with the Spiros on and it reaffirmed that until my finger/knuckle heal, I need a very low tension string.
