This is what I get for ordering strings from Amazon Warehouse...

Fellow Amazon employee here and I can’t stress enough telling my music friends to stop buying strings from them..

I have seen a few threads here and there about people getting someone else's returns from Amazon.

Someone buys a new set of strings, put the old ones back in the package and send it back to Amazon for a refund. They don't even bother checking what's inside the returned package and simply put it back on the shelf for the next unsuspecting customer looking for a deal.

+1 we’re too busy for stuff like that. Same goes for certain retailers that ends in “mart”

This isn't even remotely close to that description.

you make a point! that said: i've purchased a bunch of strings via amazon: i buy new, expect to pay the going rate, and i've never been 'stiffed'....yet!

I buy a lot of strings from amazon. Never had any issues with them. I know what the amazon warehouse (returned/used) sells, therefore I probably wouldnt have bought strings from them. People are shady, so no doubt someone returned their old strings. Sucks that happened. At least the return policy is solid.

Dont be scared to buy strings from Amazon. Just stick with the new ones!

Warehouse is selling returned items usually at a deep discount. I bought a workbench for half price due to a damaged box. The workbench was mint.

It means when someone sends something back to amazon but the packaging is damaged, they get to sell it on to you instead of accepting the loss so Lex Luthor can buy, I don't know, another yacht to get to the island in the lake on his main yacht or something.

Cry, cry, cry. They've got a great return policy. I just sent a u-bass back because it had uneven string volumes.

Buying from the warehouse is hit or miss. I've gotten some really good deals, but I've also gotten a few duds. You just have to be prepared to send back the duds.

while i get why companies sell returns as open box/used... etc, theres just some things you dont buy that way. underwear, food, strings... lol. im not sure why you would chance something like strings when amazon warehouse is described as like-new, open-box, and pre-owned items. i buy my strings from them all the time, but i sure as heck wouldn't by used ones from anybody. why would anybody buy used strings?

I am all for hating on Amazon as much as the next guy, but how is it not "close to that description"? The strings were labeled as "used" "cosmetic imperfection" "repackaged" that's exactly what they are. You seem to be surprised that the used repackaged strings you ordered came used and repackaged. I don't know why they would sell used strings, or why you would have bought used strings but there it is. Now whether they are actually D'Addario strings I don't know. I thought all D'Addario strings had colored ball ends. Id return.

Amazon has never forced anyone to buy from them. They actually offer a wider store front for many small businesses. I know it's not popular to appreciate them. The thing is, is that Jobs, Bezos, etc. were the little guy who stuck it to the man. They put in a lot more time and sweat than any of their employees. They have taken risks that most don't want to. Business owners think about all the aspects of their companies including their employees. Sometimes all night and on weekends. I've noticed that most paid employees don't know that their boss matches their FICA just so they can show up. If you are an employee are you getting up in the middle of the night because your place of work has flooded? That's why the owner makes more money than you do. Don't like it start a business. Wait until you have to tell 18-30 year olds to say good morning and please and thank you.

The complainers hate that they get delivery within two days. That they have an extremely generous return policy. That you get streaming and free delivery for a nominal yearly fee that's less than you spend on 3 months of deliveries. This is so horrible. The haters think that any success is selling out. That money is bad and business certainly is. It's how it's implemented. That's all.

No one is forcing anyone to work at Amazon. If you don't like it don't work there or work there while you develop your own thing whether it's a company or playing music. No one says life is good.

Meanwhile it looks like the OP got used strings. That's what mine look like. I tend not to sell them anywhere.
