I'm a big fan of Jazz basses, Musicmans, and 6 string Foderas, but this reminded why sometimes a p bass is best. simple, yet beautiful.
Classic cheese, great song, great bassline, and stunning precision tone.

What is he doing with the thumb on his fretting hand? That's a Jimi move, and I had no idea any bassists were doing it. Is this common? Must be tough on a P-neck.

OMG, I can't believe that he plays that fill at 1:43 AND sings!

It's frustrating that they don't show the bass player during key bass moments like they do with the other musicians. That's always been a little pet peeve of mine. Seriously, the bass drives that song.

That was one of the first songs I ever sat down and transcribed note-for-note. I love it. It's been such a long time since I played it.

I swear by the audio that it's a jazz bass. It doesn't matter much to me what kind of bass it is, it sounds amazing! AND he sings during the hardest part!

Oh man... I gotta practice more. I putz it up and I'm not singing/playing.

When I hear that song on the radio (yes, it's still played on the radio in the remote woods where I live) I always think to myself "what a great P bass sound". Seeing the video now confirms it.
