After experience with Ti flat, LTF4A and Cobalt flat, I found the Ti flat sound dry on my J and PJ bass. Cobalt flat just sing very well on them.But Ti flat just sound really really really good on my Vintera 50s Pbass.

I was a staunch Cobalt flat fan but I recently got some TIs for an old Precision I acquired (1952 
)
TIs are AMAZING. I play modern music and like slapping and digging in like Geddy. I also use a plectrum often to channel my Cody Wright Bobby Vega desires.
For the band I have to sit back carry the low end and rhythm. They get deep.
TIs sound great for all music.
You could put these on the cheapest bass in the world and with a half decent setup i bet they play amazing.

I have a set on my Fender Jazz fretless. To me, they are brite, but no bite. But I do roll off the high end. They amount depends on which amp I'm using, but they sing after that. I'm using Bartolini passive Original Jazz pups too.
I have them on my Frankenfender Jazz (overwound Fralin split coils). At first I wasn't that impressed. They seemed to lack clarity, definition. Granted, the pickups are "dark". But I gave them a chance and after playing for several months, wow, they have settled nicely into *great* tones. It's fascinating how strings change.
