And to myself and others as well.
That does not make any of us right or wrong - just of a differing opinion than yours, and everyone has a right to their own opinion.
After all, its not like we're bassists sharing the bill with the Who & slamming Pino and his work - we're all just music aficionados with different views.
Well all I can say is you should be so lucky if your band sounds anywhere even close to this good, whether you're in your 70's or your 20's:

Oh, that's not a hush. that's me cursing because for some reason my computer won't play the video. I can get the commercials, though, just fine which is amusing in a wry way.
You're still operating from a viewpoint that I'm saying The Who sucks. Why do keep doing this?
As for luck, it has nothing to do with it. The Who worked hard to get where they are, and anyone who sounds good did too. Why are you treating others as if they don't work hard too?

Pino has had many sounds. He's a chameleon and consummate pro and will do what's required and asked for for the gig he's on. Yeah I saw the show too. Sure he's not Entwistle but that's not what they want. If they did, he could deliver that no problem, in his own way-he can play his ass off. And if for some reason he couldn't they would get somebody who could, instantly. He's giving them what they want, now.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that the reason Pino got offered the gig in the first place is that he is such a pro and he and Pete forged a great connection during the White City sessions?

I saw David Bowie and NIN when they were touring together, and the mix for the two bands from the same FOH system could not have been more different. Bowie had a marvelous mix, and NIN had a muddy wall of loud.

Jimmy, I like you.
Your vast knowledge of Ampeg and Fender products, your playing & gear advice and your (usually) irreverent sense of humor have been a great TB asset to many of us over the years, but the only "schooling" you are doing in this thread is to show everyone your lack of tolerance regarding opinions that differ from yours.
