I see where you're coming from, you probably get an email each time someone comments and it could be frustrating that it's not an interested buyer. But I would just try and look at it like a free bump, and tell people in the ad to PM you and not reply. Then you can mostly ignore the emails aside from the knucklehead or two that don't read it all or pay attention.

I bump if a piece of gear I like and its at good price.
Or if there are chin straps involved on some way.

Man there is plenty of other things that agitate me like crazy about selling, most of this list seemed kind of like overreacting to me, but that's me.

What agitates me is people going "[Insert member here] is selling [insert gear here] for [insert price here], why are you charging [insert price here] for yours?" as if I'll suddenly lower my price going "My gosh! What was I thinking?? Of course I'll drop my price $150 and include shipping, oh my foolishness!" It's rude and obnoxious thing to do, they would know if they ever tried to sell anything. I will say this though, well-wishers and people talking up the beauty/value of your instrument is MORE than welcome in my classifieds thread :)

But OP wants no one to do that though! He hates it when people talk sexy things about his gear that he's selling

That's a fair gripe. Not the OP's, mind you - but a fair gripe. And yes, I've had that happen to me - and I usually say "feel free to buy the cheaper [insert object here]"". I don't sell gear for a living, so I'm not terribly frantic about it.
