The strange thing about Lady Gaga is that her music is good enough that she shouldn't have to rely on her gimmicks/image.
He's willing to base relationships with women on metal. Needless to say, it's hard for him to find girlfriends and most tend to be more than a little out there.

My mother always told me that a woman's personality is what you should love them for in the first place above other things.
To each their own.
Tastes aside, her sound and melodies are on par with her peers and they're not doing such off kilter things to get attention.
To be fair, most of my friends I've met through shared musical tastes, but that doesn't mean we don't have other things in common as well. There are plenty metalheads who I'm not friends with largely because there's not enough common ground aside from musical taste.
Yeah, I can see that... she does seem to be trying too hard to be "different". The reviews on RateYourMusic.com for her albums are hilarious though:
"I think society has f*cking lost it. People keep calling this "catchy". It's NOT catchy, it's REPETITIVE. There's a very big difference. Singing the same two notes over and over and over does not a catchy song make, it's a REPETITIVE song, one that's over-easy, calculated, and completely void of valid ideas. Meh, I think it's pretty catchy, but then again, I listen to a ton of doom metal, which can be pretty repetitive, so what do I know?

I think Gaga without makeup is about as hot and has good or slightly better melodies.
I'm definitely outside of either artists' target audience. I spent some of my time as a guitarist and enjoy the melodies of both Kylie Minogue and Lady Gaga. As I flipped through the channel and saw the Kylie Minogue song on, I couldn't take my eyes off her. I like metal, but ya simply can't kick Kylie Minogue out of your field of view.
I love Doom Metal for the unrelenting heaviness of certain bands, namely My Dying Bride.
I love symphonic stuff, but there is just something about doom that makes me shiver... Maybe it the fact that it kicks my sphincter into my chest cavity while vibrating my diaphram in the 4th dimension... Brutality and Beauty. Hey, those should be new genres; I can just see the headlines: Newest in Beauty Metal coming to Omaha January 1st. Or: Meshugga voted best in Brutal Metal. Ok, so they're a little corny, but hey, ya gotta keep an open mind...
