i do have to agree...there is a massive amount of douche baggery on that stage. i mean, he's owning that part and drawing way too much attention. he must not have gotten the memo that bassists need to sit in the back and not be seen or heard........ 
well thats one of those botique washdrum basses. way better than the 2x4 neck version i play !!!

In the world of washtub basses, I must suggest that this one is a splendid example. Thank you for sharing.
In addition, in this 40th year of my life, I have seen, in virtual print, "douche baggery," which I find absolutely wonderful. It's almost perfect, and I'm delighted that it was chosen over "douche baggedness," which is too easy, or even "douche bagging," which is less desirable as a gerund can be awkward in certain contexts.
Douche baggery has a certain "old world" charm which was most appropriate for this discussion. Thank you.
Your certainly not going to save any money for strings for a 3 string bass. As none of the major mfg make 3 string sets. And since the only way to get a 3 string bass is thru custom maker being stingy about spending money for strings makes no sense at all.

Whatever the haircut may be, whatever kind of bass the guy is playing, whatever the style of music, one thing is for sure ..... He's playing on a national TV show and I'm not

LOL. That's it. I'm get'en me a 3 string bass and a wig.
I guess it's just human nature to complain about stuff. I got not problem with it. More power to him. Like others have said, he's playing national TV shows and huge Gig's...I'm not. I have no right to complain about his hair or his bass. 
Bull. He puts himself out there in the public eye, he gets the whole enchilada. Praise, complaints, and everything in between.
I got enough crap for my mullet (gone now), and I didn't even have a high-profile gig! Why should he be cut any slack?
Cool bass, though. I'd like to get one and tune it BEA.
Heck, I'd tune it DAE. Then instead of the fifth fret being equal to the next string, it'd be the 7th fret. Then it'd have better range than EAD.
