That's a pretty rare Thunderbird, one of about 60 or so made in '92-'93, most folks don't consider Jackson basses all that collectable but I can tell you I have one and really like it alot, it's a very solidly made bass with a very high level of Japanese craftsmanship. The neck profile is a bit like a 4001 Rick, I paid about $700.00 for mine in mint condition with a real nice case.

Here's a pic of the underside of my Classic Pro IV, I primarily took it to just show the pickup, you can see a lrge rather stiff foam pad attached to the bottom. Yours had nothing? I've used the springs from ballpoint pens to provide some tension of a couple of of my 'Birds - works quit6e well.

Thanks for that tip. I am going to try that on mine to raise the height more.

Cool. Totally plausible then. I guess it'd be much harder to use a photo found online when trying to sell via craigslist. I remember it sat here for a few months, and I tried to talk the guy down a bit, but he wouldn't have it. Kinda wish I would've pulled the trigger, but hindsight is 20/20.

Ah, just checked my email from back then... he had no asking price, he was taking offers. I think I offered $200 to see what he'd say, but never heard back. If you want the highest offer, pay for an ebay auction, don't put it on CL and let it float with no price, especially on a bass that is rare like this one.

Found [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. Looks like he paid $375 for it, and probably wanted to turn a profit. Can't blame him, but still, give an asking price at least!

Since i last posted about the rd. Thought id give a bigger clearer picture of me and my bird at my show in january. I do miss playing it since the wiring still needs to be fixed. gotta get round to doing that in between my million projects

That's a nice veranda your home has.....You don't see that in Washington State too often.
Re the Ballpoint springs, I went to the drug store and checked out several diffent bulk sets of pens, none were more than 4.00, don't be afraid to trim them down a bit to adjust the tension. I used them on two of my Gibsons after I changed them over to Mike Lull's pickups.
Thanks again for the info! Mine did have the foam as your pups had, but the pups sat too low so I took a couple strips of the cheap white foam insulation you buy in roll. One side is sticky and I stuck that to the existing foam and reinstalled the pups and presto, I could adjust them the way I wanted them, which was closer to the strings. Made an already awesome bass spring to life! Just curious, how close to you set your pups from the strings? And thanks about the veranda. Down here they call it a lanai! Where I come from, which is Massachusetts, we call it a porch!
