It's incredibly easy to flip over the foam that surrounds the bass. Here's one I did for my NR41, took about 1/2 hour. Would be even easier for your Reverse.

Thanks. That's really interesting that that can be done, but either way, lugging around a case like that on the subway here is pretty futile.
Why do you guys think that it's pretty uncommon to see Thunderbirds around, especially in rock, yet you see Fenders EVERYWHERE? Is it simply a Microsoft Windows vs. Mac thing, or some other reason?

Gibson vs. Fender is quite a subject
FWIW I've never regreted have tried 3 different Fender basses over the years, they all didn't work for me. I found so much Bass Playing happiness on the road less travelled - Gibson
I know growing up here (Greater Cincinnati Ohio) there was only 1 store that ever had Gibson basses and that was a rarity, but every store had Fenders and Ibanez's pouring out the doors. To get a Gibson here was getting lucky enough to find one used, trading . My first Gibson purchase happened when I went on a class trip to Lexington ky walked into a music store and saw a Rd, the salesman let me put it in layaway mail payments and sent it to me when paid off. And as far as it goes today walk into Gcenter and Sam Ash I see same thing, Ibanez's ltd's, Dean's, Fenders all over but lucky to see a used Gibson let alone a new one.
So I have it on good authority that MONO Cases is working on a modified version of their super cool Vertigo case that will fit the Thunderbird. They're hoping to release it around the Fall. I cannot wait.
I play in a blues band and im finding the neck on my bird is too long, its a stretch playing around low F and G so i end up pointing the neck at the ceiling or straight in front of me like im shooting a gun.. a bit uncomfortable.

The Bird is a long bass,but I love playing blues on mine! I'm not particular about scale length on my instruments. My basses range from34" (Tbird), 30" (Longhorn) and 21" (U-bass). I enjoy them all pretty much equally!
Yes, I also play country and rock on it. I guess you just get used to it. It doesn't bother me. Although, now I can't seem to play any other bass cause they just don't feel right.

On the subject of Gibson vs Fender, it's a tough one. I'm personally not a fan of the Precision, then again I don't like the EB range.
My favourite tones are a hard driven Jazz bass, but personally that sound is equalled and improved by the T-birds "big angry piano" ( still love that description Mark ).
Plus who can't fall in love with these...........

I do, put some flats on my bird, and I've got an awesome warm sound now, bit muddy but that fits blues.
Ow and I bought a new amp this weekend
the Hartke HA3500, took it out for a spin yesterday and man it delivers!!
Ow and because of the pics or it didn't happen and such:
Great amp!! I just bought a Hartke LH1000 and man, my Gibby T-bird just really sings through that amp. Gives me the sound I really want with my T-bird.
