What about the Sixx Bird? How it sounds that different body?
Differences between the original?

And how about Coffin case? Birds are fit with that cases?

I just bought new EMG TBHZ passive pu, to my epi: sounds amazing!! Totally different, it's brutal.. But it not fits,
it was necessary to corrode the body for the instrumentalist...

The tone. It can be bright and aggressive, yet warm and low!! Kind of like a pissed off piano!

So, already noticing that leaning the Thunderbird against something is really hard because of the shape of the bottom. Guessing that it wouldn't work well with some stands...was just curious what stand works best for the Thunderbird.

Most of you using the neck hanging ones like the two pictured above?

Tone, comfort, and looks. I even find my Them more comfortable to play both standing and seated than Jazz basses, and I have two of each.

The Sixx Bird has a slightly tighter sound at the upper and lower end.

It comes with a standard shaped Gibson case.

I use this http://static.musiciansfriend.com/derivates/19/001/234/962/DV020_Jpg_Jumbo_451058.001_black_V.jpg works great, no worries about anything. Planning on getting a 5 guitar rack stand. As i have a very small room and little space left in it with my 9 instruments.

I have 5 basses, including my epiphone goth thunderbird, and it sounds great. Tonally, it's different from everything i own. It's a different beast. It took me a while to get used to it while sitting down since im used to playing my pbass. But i love it. It suits almost every song i play with my band. I also rewired mine so it only has a kill switch. I'm pleased with it, as well as all my other basses. But it does get more play time than the pbass nowadays. On top of it all, i had no neck dive issue with it since i hung it low enough that i could still play and be comfortable playing it.

Nice on the Warren Haynes strap! How is it? I,m always tempted by it, but it is pricey! Are you a big Mule fan? After picking up the Georgia Bootleg box set I finally decided to get serious about my picking technique.

Just not sure on the sound of my gibby tbird. First one I've ever owned and don't know if it is sounding the best it can so does anyone have any audio clips of their gibby t bird I can listen too to compare. Thanks inadvance jody

Some neck dive, but others don't. A lot has to do with the location of the strap buttons (the ones with a button behind the body where the neck starts are more likely to balance well) and how you wear it. Body type can also play a role. For instance, the design makes you reach a little farther toward the headstock, but I barely notice because I have long arms. Neck dive hasn't been a problem for me. I can take both hands off to play the keyboard etc.

Either way, definitely check one out. Especially the neck-through models. They're not for everyone, but those who like 'em them seem to love 'em.
