I think it's specific for this model, Mark...

My other bolt-on models have the wider nut. Although specs listed on the Epiphone site aren't always reliable and often have wrong details on them, it seems they have the TV Silver model right, as the description says 1960's SlimTaper with a 1.50" nut width, which seems to be identical to the Classic Pro - except for being bolt-on instead of neck-through.

If you liked the Classic Pro, you might actually like this one as well...

The chinese metallic red one that I got a couple of years ago, also has a nice slim neck - but not as narrow as the TV Silver one, though...

That's a Nice color! How are those pups different from the Gibson's?

I was kinda sceptic about the TV Silver finish, and wasn't really planning on buying this - But after seeing jdb72's pictures on page 26 and some other real life pictures of it, it kinda grew on me...

These seem to be nearly sold out pretty much everywhere, but I managed to find an online shop that still have some in stock - and they are even blowing them away cheaper than the regular ones in vintage sunburst - So I couldn't resist adding one to the collection. :)

I'm really impressed by it so far: the finish is SO much nicer IRL (photo doesn't really do it justice), and it really does look stunning with all the chrome - I really can't find any flaws on it, it only needs a little adjustment of the truss rod, lowering of the strings and some intonation adjustment - the usual stuff...

Also the neck is really thin compared to the regular bolt-on ones - pretty close to the Classic Pro-IV with a nut width of 1.50".

Btw, beautiful bass! Congratulations.

I can't wait for my 0-11 knobs to get here. :) Since no one seems to make black metal versions of these, I think this is by far the next best thing. I just can't warm up to the silver top knobs with all the black hardware.

New member to the forum and signed up after reading this thread! I've just bought a new baby yesterday and am in love! I've already given my back story in the new user section so I won't bore everyone again, so here is a picture of my new thunderbird:

I have been eying one up for months now but just couldn't warrant the extra cost for the shiny paint job, but I went to have a drool over it and saw my local shop was selling them off in their clearance sale. A couple of hours later I came home as a proud new thunderbird owner (next time I buy a new bass, remind me not to park a mile and a half away, I'd forgotten how heavy bass cases were and I'm suffering today, lol!
I've got an old WEM dominator mk1 which isn't the biggest amp in the world but has a lovely classic tone and really sounds good with the thunderbird. It will do me for the time being, until I get my confidence back up!
Anyway if you'll have me, I'd love to join this illustrious thunderbird club, if you'll have me? I'm house trained and will sit quietly in the corner, soaking up the atmosphere (plus I'm happy to let my bass do the talking!).
