If money wasn't an issue the gold anniversary would make a nice companion to the TV Silver...

It was nice, but I was drawn to the silver one because it had a kind of rawness to it under the smooth clearcoat - I bet it would look cool on under stage lights!

I agree - it kinda looks like it's made of brushed steel.

I might even go a bit further and mod it with chrome pickup rings and a chrome/aluminum pickguard like these:

I got the knobs on. AllParts suggested pulling the pots out into the control cavity to put star washers in there to pull down the post on the outside. I could only fit three (including the one already there) before I'd have no threads for the nut on top. In fact, it was so tight that I couldn't even use the washer on top, between the body and the nut. But since I hand-tightended it only, I don't think it should be a problem. Only thing is that I couldn't get the tone pot out at all. Too tight in there and I didn't want to risk breaking any wire connections. So I left it there and will just have to deal with the tone knob being a little higher than the two volumes. I guess at least this way it will be easier to tell which is the tone.

is a tbird shaped spector allowed here? here's my new bass, just got it last tuesday. sorry for the blurred photo. have to take better ones.

oh it fits a mono bag, ive read somewhere here in TB that the epiphone versions also fits in the mono bag but theres some kind of strain in the headstock. i dont know if that damages your bass in the long run

Hi, i listen the song Toxicity by Soad and love this growl, especially after guitar play C, C, C, C, C d# d c d. So, im going to youtube and not find alike at ALL videos. Maybe anybody have videos with FIVE string version of Gibson Thunderbird? Thank to much.

I took an issue of 'Batman - Black and White' and made copies of some of the images I liked best, as well as a good few for background. Then I started cutting and tearing these up and roughly laid out a collage. I used a diluted wood PVA mix to stick everything down and will continue to layer that up to give some protection. Wasn't sure if I should maybe do the pup covers too...

A heel mounted strap button plus a finely crafted beer gut make the bass face down a bit. The strap re-route fixes it perfectly.

And, damn straight there's a lack of pointy boots and curly hats on that stage! (Go-go dancers too, for that matter...(hint, hint, Clem.))

I've done that same lower over-the-body strap placement with my T-birds forever. The combination of that and the heal mount holds the bass close to my body - making it more stable and it actually helps alleviate neck-dive.
