Really nice Bass!, my two 64's still have the mutes I just can't bring myself to remove them, maybe after I change over to one Scott's newer Bridges

Ok. So I haven't seen this one before. Wow. Does this bass figure into the Thunderbucker story?

I put your serial number into the Guitar Dater website but it couldn't find any info on it??? The number on my China made Tbirds both start with UC. You can try again if you like. Maybe I put your # in wrong.

I got to play one once before a show in NJ at Russo's Music.
It was a full scale model in a sonic blue color. I didn't get a chance to plug it in, but it felt and played nice. Really thin width neck, but chunky front to back.
Hey TBers, I've been snooping around here awhile since I got my Epiphone 'Bird a couple weeks ago. A guy was selling it on Craigslist and I ended up trading my old Schecter straight up for it. The guy didn't know much about it, but I absolutely fell in love with it and had to get it. Now, my problem is, I don't know how to find out the year or exact model or anything like that. I did some searching, but nothing I've found matches the serial number on my 'Bird. Here's a pic, anybody got any suggestions on how I can get this info? Thanks!

ok I'm just learning about Thunderbirds so please humour me with some Qs
1) If you go for one of the Epiphone Thunderbirds which model is best value for money.
2) Once you buy the best Epi model what PUPs replacement do you recommend.
The TB+ Humbuckers or something else.
The Gibson website doesn't have specs for the Epi Ts so don't know what PUPs are stock in them.
3) Do the bridge's on the Epi's need replacing too.
4) Once you've upgraded PUPs (and bridge) is there still a significant difference in tone between the best Epi T's and the Gibsons ??
5) I prefer to buy used guitars.
What kinda price is reasonable for a 5 yr old Gibson Thunderbird in excellent condition in the USA ??
thanks![]()
