The black is a Gibson of 1990, the white NR is a Bach (first series) with Gibson PU of early series of '70. The cherry is a Bach NR with chrome cover. Lot of bassoutpost gas drives me, you know what I mean My Queen...

i got in contact with a Bach Bird dealer on a Dutch Forum and he can order the reproduction bridge cover for about €25,-.

I was looking for necks and had been toying with the Idea of using an Allparts P neck for a little over $300, today I find out about MightMite p neck for a little under $100. Now my question is, do I save up for the Allparts... or do I cheap out and get the Mighty mite... has anyone every used both necks?

just curious, what Tbird body are you using?

I got a Epiphone body. I have to rout the neck pocket once I get the neck. I thought about shaving the neck to fit the pocket. I have access to all the tool and a master wood worked who who will guild me in that process. Man I have a cool job even when it sucks it is still cool.I build model for wind tunnel testing by hand and in the computer. I going to take my time at getting the parts. Money does not grow on trees, but on step at a time.

i have an epi body too, i was thinking about adding a fender neck to, although i wasnt real keen on routing and all that, its not my ball of wax and i dont want to waste $$ not having it turn out....

You could always use a good wood file, do it slow, keep testing the neck to see when it fits just right. Sometimes doing things the old fashioned way still works.

I've used both. The Allparts has a 10" radius, the Mighty Mite is 12" IIRC. Allparts is MIJ, MM is Korean. Better fretwork on the AP, no question.

AP TR adjustment is at the heel with typical vintage Fender cross head screw. MM has it at the nut.

I've used 40 AP necks in the last 18 months, no problems. I used an MM neck on my JAEbird prototype, it was fine and worth the money. Also comes with a nut preinstalled.

You can find AP necks new on Ebay for less than AP sells them for.

I used an MM neck to make a Fenderbird, I shaved the neck to fit the Epi pocket, it was easier for me to do it that way -Also my Epi body was some sort of "mystery wood" that wasn't going to take routing very well, it also would have meant a refin of an otherwise nice body.

By coincidence I will be taking the parts for my fenderbird build to my local guitar repairer/maker tomorrow.

I bought a maple neck with a maple fretboard from a company called harrier guitars in the UK. Theoretically, the neck should've dropped straight into the pocket on the Thunderbird body that I previously posted pictures of in this forum.

However, I've a feeling that the neck pocket is going to have to be enlarged to allow the neck to sit nearer to the bridge. Otherwise the intonation is going to be way out.

The body came preloaded with a Les Paul type bridge and tailpiece. As well as Wilkinson musicman style humbuckers. Ideally, I would have liked these to have been chrome humbuckers.

As it is my bass I'm going to have it rewired with two-volume pots, two tone-pots and a three-way selector switch. I'll also be moving the jack socket to the end of the bass.

I was like to say thank you for all the postings in this forum that have inspired me to do this as well as inspiring me to move the strap mounting on my Westfield Thunderbird copy and Ibanez destroyer II bass to the neck plate. They now balance a lot better.

I'll post pictures when the build is complete.
