Thunderbird Club Pt.IV

Thank you so much for the club number/membership TBird1958! I've had it a couple of months and I love the unique crushing sound it has on the E and A strings. I'm so used to the Jazz that I actually find it more difficult to play since the neck is so thin BUT I don't care, I will work with it (and install strap locks!)

For those who own epiphone thunderbirds, and have 'cured' the neck dive by mounting the strap pin where the neck/body join. how do you fit a strap? it seems to be relatively small that a strap wouldn't fit. And for those who have it on the neck plate, drilled through centre, not in place with one of the neck bolts, are there any cons to it such as comfort or access?

There's only one!
This was Phil Jones bass when he worked at the Gibson custom shop, it is 9ply Korina with blocks and binding. It's owned by an aquaintance now. That's one very expensive, effing rare Thunderbird.

It's a body that I made several years ago and finally got around to finishing. A weird, superawesomely playing mahogany neck that says "Schafer" on it. GFS MM pickup currently wired straight to the jack. Mighty Mite bridge and tuners. Also has a D-tuner. Mystery strings that I had laying around. It has a countersunk 6 bolt neck attachment and is amazingly light for it's size.

I dig it... sounds super nasty in a good way with the pickup wired straight although I will be dropping in a volume pot. I need to fiddle with it some more before I declare it a keeper.

Thanks for the quick reply! That is one beautiful Korina bird and the white blocks add a great touch to the look as well

As promised! I cut the body on CNC, out of Mahogany. The neck is a Warmoth Wenge w/ Ebony fretboard, and abalone dots. The pup is a bart t-bird passive. Neutrik jack. Positively thunderous.
