I've always wanted to see a fretless T-bird - other than my Factorbird fretless... (dig yours)
Unfortunately it was a poor job. They filled all the lines in with something dark, so there is no way to tell where you are playing.
It sounds killer though if the neck is in the sun.
I'm trying to decide between refretting (most likely), or putting some visible lines in for a fretless.

Well! You sure scienced him!
LOL - thx for the complement!Don't you dare dis those hands that made that luscious Thunderbird VII!
You’re in the right place, there’s absolutely no limit on the characters in this club!I wanted WorldsOkayistBassist, which is my handle elsewhere. This had to do here due to character limit! Oh well, still happy.
For years now, it’s been in the power cord. Get with it!

Mine says Free Champagne. I go for a different demographic.

I’ve never tried the upright but have always deeply admired those that play it well. It’s such an expressive instrument, it can weep like a baby when bowed in an orchestra or scream like a banshee when slapped on stage in a psychoBilly band. In my estimation it takes a lot of talent and technique to get the most out of an upright.
I’ve thought about getting a nice middle of the road upright, but the price for admission and upkeep is pretty darn steep, and to do it right I’d have to take lessons which would be an interesting endeavor for someone who doesn’t read charts. Maybe someday I’ll give it a try, in the meantime I’ll just admire others talent.
Ahem.Bassists?
Rocket Music?
Hot deals?
Which?
Has to be a coiled cable. Tone is in the coils. And white, unless you want your sound coloured.Time to settled the age-old debate. Is the tone in the Thunderbird? The fingers? The output jack?
Roadkills-R-Us is about to science the foo out of you all.

Huh. Martin needs to chime in with the whole truth. I wonder if he ever checks this thread.Continuing my Argus bass controversy...
In this blog (Wishbone Ash Live in 1972) the writer says this about Martin Turner:
Martin Turner centre-stage, Gibson Thunderbass bass hung low
The gig was in February, 1972, "Argus" was just recorded and released in April the 28th, 1972.
The theft in the US tour happened in:
June 3rd 1972
Wishbone Ash head for their third US tour - a trip that does not go without problems. Originally scheduled to run for six weeks, the tour is brought to a halt when, following a concert in St.Louis on June 19th, the band's equipment truck parked outside their hotel is broken into and most of their gear stolen
As the T-Bird was already pictured in the sleeve of "Argus" it was not the Ric that was stolen in June '72 but a T-Bird.
Added a new pg with logo this am.Thunderbird Thursday! Newest addition to the herd! Man this thing is a brute. Absolutely amazing tone. This makes my 3rd Cataldo. The three concentric pots make for simple effective tone blending though I may switch them out for just three volume controls. Big surprise I settled on the middle pickup with the tone full up. It's a keeper, I'm really glad I grabbed it. More pictures and video to come. View attachment 4615690
You win. That is the coolest Thunderbird in the club. The pg looks great. Heck, you probably have at least five of the top ten coolest Tbirds in the club.Added a new pg with logo this am.View attachment 4615824
