I'm afraid you're going to have to wait a bit longer on that one.:D

It’s one of the very few that I’ve seen that looks to be in real good shape, so I’d expect a premium. Besides it comes with a hash pipe!

That’s the biggest table lamp I’ve ever seen!

The price seems a little on the high side but its probably the cleanest example you will ever see. You don't see them pop up for sale all that often and when they do they are usually worn. I paid around $1000 for mine several years ago and it has a good amount of wear on the bass and the case. The previous owner also said one of the pickups didn't work. The previous owner was wrong.

I can only imagine how good that sounds.
It was Greco II rotation day today, played for a couple hours along with Swing, Big Band and Jazz tunes and it sounded phenomenal! (Note, I didn’t, it did).

I find the TIs generally brighter and the mids (which are very present) tend to be mid to upper mids. Pyramids seem darker and thicker sounding to me. Mids seem lower. Kind of like GHS Precision Flats, which have good low mids, but are slightly brighter than the Pyramids, but not as much as TIs or EBCFs.
I’m still looking for a new set of strings for the BaCH, the Pyramids might be on the short list as are Roto flats. I know the current chrome flats aren’t cutting it, much too bright. I’ll probably drop a Thunderbucker in as well.

why flats?

I'm not saying it never happened in Christian history (everything has likely happened a few times in 2000 plus years, but that doesn't necessarily make it a practice. I'm not sure I'd count on a book about a TV program for religious history. I'd like to see in a scholarly book to satisfy my doubt. But even in such sources things aren't always correct. Many things have been attributed to that belief system that actually aren't believed. I've read several books that I won't name and kept laughing that no one I know believes the things stated (for ridicule buy "scholars" no less). I've never heard of that before, not impossible, but I'd say pretty unlikely.

One The Prisoner 'scholar' thinks it was related to seeing scuba divers signaling each other "ok" on the Village set dealing with Rover popping up from below the ocean.

The Chrome flats on it right now are too bright for my tastes, so time for a change.
Was kinda thinking it would be neat on this bass to go full retro and install a Thunderbucker 66N or 66S and strings that would be close to what would have been the norm in the late 1960’s, which I assume would be these…

Definitely too high. Looking at the pics though, this could be a $2,500 bass to the right buyer.

I would almost like to have one but every one I have seen is FUBARED and way overpriced.

That one is overpriced by at least 3x

You aren't going to find any nice ones for $1,000. At $1,500 to $2,500 you could get a nice one, IMO.

A google search shows prices ranging from $1,000 to $3,500 depending on condition and year of bass.
Remember, some people still think it is the year 2000 or earlier.

Anyone pricing theirs north of $2,500 is shooting for the moon, IMO.

Tried the Broughton SV-Pre with the 12-string and 'though I've kinda found my fav setting with the "normal" bass I was prepared for a serious tweakin as the 12-string is sometimes hard to please when it comes to EQ etc. To my surprise all I had to do was to switch the low to the ultra-low and that was it. The scoop it makes to the 500Hz area really works with the 12 and I could even crank the gain a bit without it getting harsh or muddy. The Acoustic cab does the rest of the shaping.
This makes the life easier if I have gigs where I have to switch between 4 and 12 and have to go without mic'ing or without the amp at all.

The Roto's are stiff. Might want to at least consider going to a lighter gauge if that could be an issue. They also tend toward the bright side of flats. Not a lot, just that lean that direction more than the thump direction. They have nice mids (no surprise), and for some reason are very low output. Amps have volume controls so that's not problem unless changes basses during a set.
