Sure. I’ll take SIT Power Steels for the work up to now. But I’m too old to sit for another Bar Exam so you’ll have to make other arrangements if she doesn’t go for it. Besides. You haven’t bought a bass since something like 2019. Right? It’s time to end the drought.
You know Sweetwater has them still listed at $1,899, but doesn't have any in stock. MF has some in stock for $2,199! This is evidence for building my case. The only weird thing is that say they bought a bunch of NOS which this was part of. That hardly anyone can keep them in stock makes that sound a little odd. But may have been small shop going out of business.

I think the basement in the house in the mountains is 7 1/2 or 8 feet. I have been told that is where my basses and amps will have to live when we move in full time. I will not be installing a ceiling fan down there.
I had been relagated to the basement but after the fledglings left the nest, I moved my gear to the second floor of the house. A week later, I was adjusting some necks.

:)

First practice with the Epi TBird is in the books. Playing through my TE GP-12, 2x10 Avatar and 1x15 Ashdown cabinets, the bass really cut through the band. Of course it helps that I stand right in front of my rig (with ear plugs) but man, super clear and best of all, on the few occasions when I'd play around the 9-10th frets on the G string, I wouldn't lose the notes. I have a hard time hearing those on my other basses at times, don't know if it's a string or bass thing (or old ears).

Still playing on a 2" strap and yeah, there was neck dive if I took my hand off the neck, but I can deal with that for now.

I pretty much had all knobs at 10 unless we played a quieter song, at which time I'd roll off the tone and the bridge pickup a little.

Playing with fingers or pick (90%/10%), both sounded good. With the shape button on my TE pressed, the bottom end was a little too boomy, would make me self-conscious, but it did sound great. Will be good to get a few more practices under my belt with this bass, as I was noodling around with dials and settings and not 100% dialed into the playing. Overall? Liked it a lot.

I record all practices with a little external mic on my phone, placed about 5 feet from my cab and that's about it. I won't bore you with an original, so here's one of the covers we're doing. Bass starts at about 1:30 if you want to listen.

Thanks for posting. Sounds great, and nice playing. This is how songs should be recorded....more bass and less of that background chatter!

One thing that still irritates me is when people say "chomping at the bit" it is/was "champing at the bit" which means when a horse is impatient and chewing anxiously at the bit, kind of like gnashing their teeth, they're not trying to eat the bit. English gets dumbed down continuously. The Royal Spanish Academy would never allow that to happen in Spanish :D.

The Royal Spanish Academy (Spanish: Real Academia Española, generally abbreviated as RAE) is Spain's official royal institution with a mission to ensure the stability of the Spanish language.

english has Shakespeare….it doesn’t need any “protection” besides, english has about 20 dictionaries, spanish about 4…..who wins?….:D

I don't know. Never been to Spain. Or Oklahoma.

Hopefully I haven't told this story here yet. I hitched across the country a couple of times when I was a teenager, the second time I got picked up by some guys coming from NY and they had had something to do with a band that had recorded 'Eli's Coming', (Laura Nyro) but Three Dog Night beat them to the punch and it was a big hit right at that point, every time it came on the radio they'd start grumbling and moaning and talking about how things could have and should have been .

The RAE is obviously not ensuring Cuban Spanish, in FL or Cuba.
There were some Spanish Palace Guards staying at the hotel we worked in that told us they could understand us in Ingles better than they could understand the Miami/Cuban version of Espanol.(I don't have the 'wiggly thing' for the N on my keyboard)

totally…..same for mexicans over here…..like their own language… don’t forget however that the largest spanish speaking nation in the world is mexico, followed by US with Spain coming in at third….so, the RAE can say all they want question is, who’ll listen?…..

mine isn’t that good either….having spoken Italian at home and having spent sometime in Spain has helped however…

My pronunciation is terrible (laziness too) and being from Massachusetts originally we don't pronounce R's at all anyway so I'm a marked man. 3 words out of my mouth and most people here suddenly find something else to do.
