And another from my pics.

Boo, can’t see this one. But got the other one and the lefty shot.

It's a 2013. Yeah I had to learn about the bridge. The 3 point floating bridge is weird to me at first but honestly I had no idea the Gibson necks are so angled back until after I got it, so it makes a bit more sense to me now. However, do any of you recommend swapping the bridge, do you really feel the extra sustain?
I put a Babicz on two of my Thunderbirds and the 2015 came with one. I don't think it makes much sustain difference. I just like it better, partly because it looks better and I'm completely shallow.

Looked good on the Flamingo!

I prefer the Babicz drop in three point replacement for string height adjustability. And longer intonation travel. I don’t think it really adds sustain.

These are nice Gibsons. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
The EB is a very nice bass.

I mentioned to Bryan that there seems to be no real pattern to what's going on. He said, "If the issue is with photos hosted elsewhere there’s probably nothing we can do about it unfortunately- that would likely be a server/sharing issue with the host site."

That would make sense if the problem were consistent. Change in my pic's hosting site (google) would seemingly cause all pics to have the same problem, if the problem were the host site. But his is not true. Some pics do appear just fine. Nor does that seem to explain why some see them with one device and later not (always on another device?), and vice versa. Had the two from some other site worked and mine didn't, that would make sense. I don't blame him for not knowing for sure. I understand he just has to go on what he sees and is probable.

Another from my cloud site...

No pic attached.

If I’m posting a pic from the net, I always download into my photos folder first (I have a lot of Nikki pics in my photos folder). Then I use the upload feature on talk bass. Have never had an issue that way.

That’s what I do as well, no issues.

Its a 2013 model and I got it from a seller who wanted 1200. Did I do well?
Yes, you got a great deal. I love my 2013 Tbird…

As for bridge replacements, there are a couple of drop in replacements that don’t require any modifications to the bass - Hipshot and Babicz. I find the stock bridge to be perfectly adequate. I do have other Tbirds with Babicz and Hipshot bridges and don’t really notice any performance gains. The Hipshot does have a functional advantage with adjustable string spacing.

Some swap out to either a Babicz or a Hipshot. Some don't. It is a matter of personal preference.

I like the Hipshot bridge. It is more adjustable (including string spacing). It adds some counter weight to the back end (ahem). I am unsure about added sustain. It does get silks off the saddles. I have Hipshots on all my basses as a matter of standardization.

extra sustain. I like to let a single note ring out so long that the audience loses interest and leaves.

I like the 3 point but with the added claw (like on a tuna-matic)to keep the silks off the saddle. I do have a 3 point without the claw and that’s fine too.

I first noticed the claw plus 3 point on Greco boids…

no wrong answer, but if it looks cool do it!

adjustability is fine, but once it’s adjusted, what good does more adjustability do you?

tuna-matic and 3 point with claw

look ma no claw!

A friends of mine's parents had a '65 Chrysler with a 440, the kind with the bullet dashboard speedometer, that thing was also fast, you could be putting down the road and floor it and bake the back tires, they blew the tranny out of it and those torque flights were good transmissions.
His wasn't modded, but he was a good mechanic (mechanical engineer by trade), and kept it in top shape. Only car I was ever in that you could be going 35 MPH, mash the gas and both tires would light up. And it was a heavy car.

His older brother had a '68? 300 like this, but a really pretty dark blue flake.

Congrats! The bridge will work just fine for most. I've got two with the 3 point and they are fine, an '06 with a hipshot. I do like it better, but the others work and I have no intention of changing them. As for sustain...a Thunderbird has plenty, most of the time not needed. I honestly can't recall when a note faded and I was out of luck. I just have never run into sustain being an issue on any bass, certainly never on a neck through. To me it's just a preference thing if you wanted to change the bridge, and certainly not needed.

This is a real Thunderbird bridge. ;)
