Thunderbird Club

Posted b4 I saw @Stealth57's post.

Or unless they have their steering wheel in the right hand side
(And bonus points for pillarless hardtops)

I guess sustain was the wrong word, but do you feel that the notes reverberate through the body of the instrument stronger, when using a bridge pressed against the body like the babicz or hipshot?
I haven’t noticed any performance difference in any of the different bridges on my thunderbirds.

That said, if I had a desire to mod my 2013 Tbird bridge, I’d probably add a hard tail claw behind the stock three point bridge then put a Tbird bridge cover over the three point to give it a slightly more vintage look. That’s the way my 1977 Greco is set up…

For many years in the US, hardtop meant no pillar; sedan, with pillar. Our family had 2 4 door hardtops: a 60 Galaxie, and a 63 Galaxie 500.

Attached a post above from a few days ago about Tbird bridge pics, it might help you visualize some of the different options. To be honest I don’t notice any performance difference in any of them. They all work great.

what a beauty….

Well, mostly. But sometimes they blessed earthlings with things like this......

They also had some of the ugliest cars ever made.....

I had a '65 Dart and a '62 Dart except mine had a 318 instead of a 413, a drummer I used to play with bought a new one in 1962 with a 413 and dual quads, it was long gone by the time I met him though. I can't imagine how fast the 413 must have been though because mine with the 318 was pretty quick. They were a little bigger than the later Darts.

Yup, that was the way I always knew them too, my first car was a '61 Impala 2 door hardtop bubble top, it was a beautiful car until I wrecked it on sheet ice one afternoon.

yeah, here I’ve always (90+% I guess) heard the full thing. “Pillarless Hardtop” - sounds posh, dunnit

'Scuse me for a moment while I :drool::drool::drool::drool:.

That was about 13 years ago and he never posted a finished picture. I'm going to take my 1970 EB3-L that had a headstock break while being shipped to me last year to him. I warned the mo....seller to be careful with packing, he only put a layer of thin bubble wrap around it. Crack! A least it broke in only two pieces.

Somehow, the term 'dumb@$$' comes to mind.
