Can't forget sumpin' ya don't know.PM finally got them back about 4 or 5 years ago, I'm not sure who owned them before but you could barely find any Beatles on YouTube until McCartney got them back. I think that's really stupid keeping your songs off YouTube, I always check with YouTube before I buy an album by someone I not not real familiar with and I bet a lot of other people do too. The Hendrix estate keep all his stuff off and the kids are forgetting about him. His sales haven't kept up with other big stars from that era.
Only one other amp-beside my 3 Rumbles-I wanna buy.(Now where's that dang "Prize Patrol"?)

Dang! I read that wrong. Thought it said "ex-lax".![]()
Yeah, I’m sure there is a thread on TB about the Studio Bass amp. Some have been converting them into head (only) jobs.Oh yah - that would be great! You're the best Chucky!![]()
Your patience will be rewarded one day. And, you will own the closest sounding Thunderbird to 60s you can get for not way over four figures.Holding out for a Vintage Pro.
Yep. Their "weakness" is they lack some of the bigness of the 60s. But amps have knobs and the type of string makes a huge difference. I think one issue some people have with any bass is they slap their favorite string on it and it's not an ideal match and conclude the bass doesn't sound good. Then there's the whole amp and cab thing to factor in as well. Also, a couple of us have the neck PUP really low on our '64s. Counter intuitive I know, but they sound amazing for us so we won't touch them. I might try that on a VP next time I use it out.No, just folks say its the closest to pup placement and sound of a 60s bird. Thanks
Definition of what a bass is supposed to sound like in my book.Honestly, my wife and I are taking care of her 94 year old mother and can't really leave for any length of time. I like it here, lots of positives but I've wanted to go back for a while now. Those things do sound good, not a lot of treble but they sound huge.
Cool!He also played a fretless Precision. By the late seventies he had switched to a fretted Stingray.
When he was with King Crimson he used a Jazz. One had a mudbucker added.

Stanley Sheldon was the first person I recall using a fretless maple Pbass in the mid 70s. He might have been second to put those in use for rock.Yeah, I've seen the pictures with a maple neck fretless P bass.

Agree. Some are so strict that even a few seconds is too much. I get you don't ideally want to put whole albums on youtube, but you are right, many are missing out on exposure. Kids find things on youtube and get interested in them. If nothing else they might go see a show if the artist is still performing even if they won't buy a CD or download.PM finally got them back about 4 or 5 years ago, I'm not sure who owned them before but you could barely find any Beatles on YouTube until McCartney got them back.
