If yer a 1 finger typist-like me-shortening to "pups" makes(some)sense.is it bad that I want to take a claw hammer to the peepholes that call pickups "pups"?
What flavors are you considering Jeff? Both are pretty cool.
But i'm at a crossroads with my amp right now.
Might be time for a new flavor.
What i'd have to spend on a repair, i can just get something really cool used.
And no money moves at all to after the Cali trip.
Not much different than calling people 'peepholes,' basses 'bases,' roundwounds 'roundworms,' guitars 'geetars,' etc.is it bad that I want to take a claw hammer to the peepholes that call pickups "pups"?
IKWYM M2Yeah. I hafta look about half of them up. More than once.
I like PUs better. Even less typing.is it bad that I want to take a claw hammer to the peepholes that call pickups "pups"?
Don't look it up. I made it up. I figured it was my turn to give the world something important........Oh!

Enjoy your trip.A most Happy Thunderbird Thursday, all.
Frank and I are headed to the Coast for a few days to see friends and do some sightseeing and walks, we're going to visit Ft Worden in Pt. Townsend and likely visit La Push out on the West Coast as well. Scenic highlights as time allows.
Best, V

That's a great idea. With a power amp you can plug in different a pre to suit your tone mood and not have to buy a whole amp.First on the list is going back to a power amp.
Crest CA-9. Just love how they sound, and rock solid.
My Ashly pre would sound killer through it.
Not sure yet on an integrated amp Donnie.

I know the Crown isn't small, but with some of the small-ish amps and pres available these days, you could have exactly what you want(less cab)in a small gym bag.I've always have had great success going that route.

How much power do you need? Jay Ganz's Straight Ahead Power Amp is really small and puts out 500W.I'll be doing my research.
But most likely will go with that Crest, maybe a Crown.
We'll see.
Sounds like great news. When do they think you will get it back?Have fun and be safe!
My RNR is currently at 30th Street Guitars here in NYC going under the knife. The neck is getting slimmed down and possible reshaped a bit. Just had to find the right person (fingers crossed) to do it. It's a great shop and I've always had great experiences there.
