I had plans to come in for the GTG. However, raising investment funds into one of the new companies is not as fast as I had planned, so it is looking unlikely.

@BklynKen and the other lefties have my respect. I tried it and it is much harder than it looks. They are certainly doing things the hard way.

Actually, I think the trouble I had playing lefty was that I assumed that skills were very transferrable from right handed to left handed. If I had gone right back to square one, I may have had more success.

Yes, factory wired, today was the first time I ever opened the cavity. It's not shielded at all, I may have to try that. Funny none of my other basses hum though with both of their volumes partially down. I think the main problem is no grounds out here. What is "star-grounding"?

A series of ground wires from the pu cavities, control cavity and bridge-ground all connected and ending at the jack ground-tab. The center of the "star" is grounded to the control cavity with a screw or soldered to a copper (tape or metal strip) floor.

I use carbon sheilding paint on the cavities and copper-tape on the floors. You can solder your star-ground wires to the copper tape. Copper tape can be found in your local hardware store - called "slug-tape". (or on-line) Carbon shielding paint has to be ordered on-line. I do three coats.

So far, my (gold/silver/copper) gilded finishes or Marty Bells sparkle finishes have never had a grounding issue...

That is it - carbon/graphite ... all the same - like liquid pencil lead. It is water based but extends more than any water-borne paint. (takes much more water to clean a brush of it)... but having an applicator/brush built-in helps. Just try not to get it on a surface you don't want it on - although water soluble, it can be tenacious to remove.
