You’re running the volume pots (or pickups) straight to the jack and it’s still too muddy? That ain’t right. Just go with the EMGs, I have a set in my Spector Tbird that sound great (but it’s also active).

I'd like think the emg hz would be an improvement. I'd prefer not to switch to active but if I do, the pj tbird pickups.
There's something so quaint about them. I like this stuff, it reminds me of being four, or six in NYC.

In all seriosity, with no silks or colored ends, it's a crapshoot. What would suck is that if you like 'em, you have no idea wuttinnahell they are.

What's strange to me Mike is, the D string has blacked balled end.

I was going to guess DR sunbeams except for that one darker colored end. DR's are all chrome colored.
