Just so I understand, you have 2 Tbirds, a 2013 and a 2018, that sound quite different, even though the pickups “should” be the same?

AFAIK the 2018 pickups should be just as “modern” sounding. You have already eliminated the tone control right? The only other thing to try would be to wire each pu directly to an output jack - just in case there’s something else going on. It’s unlikely, I would try it.

Yes. The 18 is very bassy, boomy, dark compared to the 13

I really liked SOS, brings back good memories too, Dancing Queen isn't bad either.....ducks, looking around.......... Hey I even like some of the early 60's stuff that everyone always says is schlock. This was a little before my time, I learned about this stuff from my rock n roll aunt.

Actually this was early schlock- 1958

Dancing Queen was all right!

Until we moved from El Paso, I hadn't heard too much rock and roll. Not long after we moved, at age 11, I learned about some bits of rock and roll from the 14 y/o girl next door, and more from a 15(?) y/o cousin. I discovered the local top 40 station; at the time such stations played music that was all over the map, with (potentially) the Carpenters and Jimi Hendrix back to back. Then my parents bought a small house nearby as a rental property. The former tenant left *everything* behind. Thousands of books, dozens of albums, and hundreds of 45 - almost all Motown and other black rock or related music. Len Berry, the Supremes, James brown, the Temptations, and many more. I was drowning in amazing music. Still am.
