Thunderbird Club

I have a '49 Gibson BR-9 amp. It has a strong smell when fired up if I haven't used it for a while. I plugged in the SG for a bit last night and it went into overdrive right away with the hot humbuckers. Roll off on the guitar an solo the neck pickup and it got a really creamy sound I wasn't expecting from the neck. The bridge pickup has a bad pot, so I don't know what it will do yet.

There is joy in undersized tube guitar amps.

mine sounds beautiful with acoustic geetar, harmonica, and vocals. as well as electronic treble geetar.

Johns Carruthers checked it out many many years ago and said it was the same build as a vox ac15

I spotted this thing in a thrift store and couldn't leave it there.

It just goes so perfectly with my cigar box guitars.

Had a gig last night(Thursday). It's been on the books for awhile. One guitarist recently had some minor surgery and can't play for awhile. The other one tested positive Tuesday, so he's out. So, it was the drummer, me, and a guitarist we used to work with maybe 8-10 years ago. We pulled it off 'cos we all know a lotta the same [stuff]. Tonight(Friday), another gig with a different guitarist we occasionally use as a sub(he didn't wanna do last night's gig-long drive/:poop:$)plus a sax man we work with offandon. Should be interesting.:eyebrow:
Thunderbird>Rumble 100 both gigs. PA is my Yamaha mixer>my JBL EON ONE.
(Pic of set up at a different club)Equally crowded tonight.

Nice. I like the lit-up "Don't cross this line" line. How are the SITs working out?

The rope lights are a hint but, since we're on the same level as the dancers, are only slightly better than nothing. SIT's are working out well. I'm still having to futz with EQs that I previously used to match the rooms we play. It's a process. They're a bit lighter gauge than the EBCFs that were on there, so that's taking some "getting used to", both sonically and feel wise.

And on the subject of dancers, I heard a song a coupla days ago that had the line "She dancers like a ballerina, I dance like I've been shot in the leg". Cracked me up and accurately describes my dancing "ability".
