I have a '49 Gibson BR-9 amp. It has a strong smell when fired up if I haven't used it for a while. I plugged in the SG for a bit last night and it went into overdrive right away with the hot humbuckers. Roll off on the guitar an solo the neck pickup and it got a really creamy sound I wasn't expecting from the neck. The bridge pickup has a bad pot, so I don't know what it will do yet.

There is joy in undersized tube guitar amps.

They're my favorites to work on as well as lots of fun to play - especially the Gibsons.

And on the subject of dancers, I heard a song a coupla days ago that had the line "She dancers like a ballerina, I dance like I've been shot in the leg". Cracked me up and accurately describes my dancing "ability".

My wife laughs if I try to dance and just says, "Don't do that." Not that I've tried it in public in decades or sober.

So I made sure to be home today because FedEx was scheduled to deliver my T'bird...just got an email saying it will be Sunday. Well thats just dandy since I will be gone all day, we have tickets to see Gov't Mule. So probably won't see the bass till Tuesday.

Sunday is the fake out. They are telling you Sunday to make you go out all day Saturday so that they can leave a "missed you" notice and claim a delivery attempt.

They take their operational advice from Col Flagg.

this one survived the Paradise fires…real mess but with a little TLC it sang like a canary…..sturdy these old Gibsons, thought I would have a hard time selling but it sold in less than one week!….fire souvenir status I guess…..
