Thunderbird Club

It's a concrete floor and the laundry room is there too, so the plan is for some vinyl plank, nothing fancy. Frank has done all the work, built the closet, installed these nice 2"LED recess cans put the cupboards up above my modeling desk, there's some barn door sliders yet to do, he's amazing.
It's a bit of a mess just now, but it'll come together pretty quick.

Looks pretty sweet already. Frank is a handy guy!

It should be done in a couple weeks, so consider yourself invited once Marshall decides to travel up this way.

And now it’s my turn to thank
@Chucky Stiletti and fam.

Welcomed a complete stranger to be with them, let alone our little group of TBird lovers having a little shindig.

People who have not met each other and
a family inviting them all into their home
is a pretty big deal.
That’s a sign of trust.
Not to be taken lightly.

And this I will not forget.

Speaking of my 2015, happy TT!
I must have missed your original telling of that. Really sux. Best of luck finding something, hopefully better.
That’s the I’ve mentioned itv

Thanks Mike. I didn’t post it here until that reply. Life is good. And it will go on. I’m actually relieved. I hated working for that company. But I met a lot of great people along the way. Some of them will meet the same fate in the months to come. And I feel really bad for them.

Looks awesome! Tell Frank I think he does great work. And I miss the two of you already.

This club is amazing!

Thanks Geo. Rifs (the HR term for reduction in force) suck. Geico laid off approximately 25% of the legal department a week ago Tuesday. Absolutely no warning. And they don’t have the guts to announce it publicly. And the way it was handled was demeaning and unprofessional. I was the low man on the totem pole.

I have plenty of prospects, so I’ll no doubt find something for the next couple years until official retirement.

They probably did me a favor. Geico is an awful company to work for.

that sucks Marshall. I hope they at least had the decency to give you a decent redundancy payment to ease the shock.
Good luck with the job search.

Sorry to hear that. We're perfectly happy with State Farm for our home & car insurance needs, but Geico is now on my list of companies to steer people away from.

Excellent! It was much less finished when we were there, but the quality of the work was clear. Yay, Frank!

The smart ones have read the handwriting on the wall and are planning and looking. Hopefully that covers the great ones and generally those who need it the most.

Thanks Geoff. It’ll be ok. Corporate America is brutal. Geico is a Warren Buffet owned company. He couldn’t care less about his employees. I went through this before when I worked for Allstate. They gave me plenty of notice. And they gave me options to move to Seattle to run the office there or Phoenix. My wife nixed Seattle and who in their right mind would want to live in Phoenix? Flagstaff sure. A nice town. It’s close to skiing, fly fishing, etc. Geico couldn’t offer anything.
