Thanks Geoff. It’ll be ok. Corporate America is brutal. Geico is a Warren Buffet owned company. He couldn’t care less about his employees. I went through this before when I worked for Allstate. They gave me plenty of notice. And they gave me options to move to Seattle to run the office there or Phoenix. My wife nixed Seattle and who in their right mind would want to live in Phoenix? Flagstaff sure. A nice town. It’s close to skiing, fly fishing, etc. Geico couldn’t offer anything.

Your wife nixed a good thing! I may be biased. And our insurance is Allstate, for what that's worth.

T-Bird fam, I have video proof of my T-bird in action. However, I'm gonna ask that you read the accompanying article on the illustrious pages of American Songwriter, where my little band, Planets in the Ocean, got a write up and exclusive premiere of our song, Splinter!

Though the T-bird is what shows in the video, due to me wanting a low-D at the very end of the song, I played my L1K, which has a Hipshot extender on it. The good news is, the T-bird looks great!

Hope you can take a few minutes to read the article and watch the video.

There's only one bass that I play regularly that doesn't have a Hipshot x-tender on it, for exactly the reason you mention. I enjoyed the video. The camera flying around and then pulling back to the ceiling at the end is something I never saw before.

Installed the modified pots in the BlingBird today. Sounds better than ever. A noticeable shade darker with less sizzle on the top end. Thanks for the idea @Thumper.

The EY pups do sound fuller. Still not Greco territory but certainly Epiphone territory, not quite as creamy as my modern Gibby pups, close in sound to my VP with a tad less grit. Any further fine tuning of the overall tone of this bass will be easily accomplished with various string selections. Keep in mind this is a semi hollow body with a maple top and poplar back and maple neck so it will always have a slightly different sound than a standard Tbird.

The three pup layout with individual volume and tone controls for each pup is exceptionally flexible. Solo any pickup and it sounds great, or max out the bridge volume and tone then roll in the neck volume with the tone off to thicken things up and fine tune with the center volume and tone for a very full (and loud) sound.

You have three of everything except outputs. You need three outputs, one per pickup!

I've just tuned the CP and VP to D standard. Problem solved. I hadn't looked at a chart or tab in months, though, just been practicing by ear, so when Jonathan pulled out a cord chart with c#, it took a mo to get out of whackadoodle mode, but my bass world is back to "normal" now.

For the few of you that still have your brass mute on your '60s vintage bird - here's what the original felt pads/blocks look like. These were off my '64 II. I also have the brass mute that I removed from my stollen '63 II. Can you say valuable? (maybe to someone, perhaps whoever now owns that bass?)
