Thunderbird Club

I'm thinkin about a franken-bird-baritone...

I started to Play in a stoner/doom/sludge-duo with a Drummer (somehwere between om and mantar) and found where the borders of a bass guitar are.... I might Switch to some form of guitar in that particular Project...

I thought about combining a short scale bass/bass VI neck with an epiphone bolt on Body... might work, might not... I got to give this some thought.... might end up Kind of a firebird-VI

Just make sure there's room to put the bridge in the right place

Why not go with a Warmoth build?

I'm looking at possibly picking up another tokai Thunderbird. This is an early Korean (same as my black one) so it will be good. Mine had good pups but of course that's not good nuff haha! I am on the prowl for some TB+ but I'm also looking into the emg Hz passives. I used the active p&j but I definitely want to keep this traditional sounding. Anyone use those? Or have cart of TB+ you'll come off of?

Also, that bridge will have to go, gotta be a 3 point. Ill install a kill switch where the jack is and add a side mount barrel jack. Maybe I'll get a new black Of off Larry too.

Ive been reading through previous posts to see if this has been asked before but I cant seem to find much . Im thinking of adding a strap button on the forward slope (where the top horn would be) . Is this a bad idea for ballance ? just now its on the back of the body at the base of the neck , but Im not keen on this . any help would be greatly appreciated .

A kill switch? Well, we play loud, I'm all over the stage and so forth. When a song ends I need to kill my signal and flipping a switch is the easiest and fastest way. That way, no monkeying around with knobs
Interesting. I just use my tuner for that.

Of course, I'm in a six-piece, so usually there isn't enough room for me to get so far away from my pedalboard that I can't get back to it by the end of the song (also because often I have to be by there at the end of songs anyway to hit my reverb pedal).

Wheeeeeee clunk! This strap button position is much more likely to give you neck dive. Any particular reason you're not keen? I have Schaller pins on mine and a strap with a reversed top lock, so the strap isn't twisted when it's on. The only real problem is the leather on the strap is quite thick and required flattening around the lock thread. The lock's nut was then tightened with a spanner and secured with liberal amounts of nail polish and checked frequently to make sure it's all still fast in place.

For this band I don't use any pedals, tooich going on!
