A little help please.

On my 2013 Gibson TBird, the bridge PUP's volume pot seems to have stopped working. Dimed I'm getting nothing and all the way down till I reach 2 I get scratchiness I can hear through the amp but no volume. At 2 the PUP is playing but of course it's about as useless as boobies on a bull.

So that I only have to do this once, what's the best drop in replacement for that pot? OEM? After-market? If you can provide a link that would be great, thanks!

Try turning the pot 0-10 back and forth quickly 10 or more times. It may just be dirty (oxidized from lack of use is the usual cause for me) and that works about 90% of the time. Pot (electronics spray) cleaner usually does the other 10%. YMMV.

As to a replacement, I'd either go with a Gibson replacement or replace all three with CTS. I don't know the Gibson 2013 specs.

Thanks for the response, Carlo. I did the 0-10 thing a bunch having read that here on TB. I haven't try pot cleaner(since I don't have any) but my thought was, how dirty or oxidized could it be? It's 3 years old and never leaves the house... I'm really thinking I'm dealing with a failed pot or a failed PUP.

Of course I'm hoping it's the pot. I guess I need to dig into this a bit and see if I can find some numbers on the pot to help me out.

The Epi Blackbird, at my 2nd "The Alice Project" rehearsal, brought it to the table- with a bullet. Even through an SWR Workingman's Fifteen. Not changing a thing, except maybe strings.
