Both pickups on with some hair from Bad Monkey (and my head!) and occasional flanger. We didn't try to duplicate the original version as you can hear and how could we anyway. But making own arrangements was part of the fun and we didn't get shot buy over-zealous Rush fanatic. Count me as a Rush fanatic too.



*far from slavery actually. We were at home from each gig before 9PM, gear haulage didn't break our backs, all gigs were on tuesdays and wednesdays, no hangover next morning etc.etc.
Rock 'n' roll? Maybe not but I'm a closet book worm anyway.

I would do a library tour in a heartbeat. Codename “When Passions Collide”. Or maybe Polyamory.

For the Dano folks. I’m not sure the La Bella white tapes are the right choice. Too floppy. I know that EBCF won’t work as previous owner said they were too brittle to go around the small tuners.

Any suggestions for flats that will work and fit the sound of the Dano?

well poopie, I wish I knew they wouldn’t work! That’s what I got on mine.

I just want to report that I got 8 years out of GHS Black Nylon Tapewounds.

Still sounded good and thumpy till the E string unwound at the ball end.

Following along with the edict to not fix what ain't broken, I stayed with these strings on my 2014 Gibson Thunderbird IV because they feel buttery smooth and provide a nice deep, smoky tone and no string zing to highlight my poor left-hand technic and they look great as well.

Have you tried any other tapes to compare with? I've not known any one to use those.

I completely understand. Once I hit on a string/bass combination that approaches magic, I hardly ever try another set.

A '71 Precision, and yes, that's a Seymour Duncan HawkBucker back there.

I don't but I did a library tour of sorts last fall and the following spring and happened to use the T-bird on each and every gig (sans a fretless Aria for one PC tune...). The idea was that me and my friend played a song and a librarian who toured with us presented a biography of that same artist/band.
We usually played an encore (ushered mostly by that library fellow...) and did an original tune. Here's one where I play some artsy accompaniment using the bridge pickup and playing way above the money frets.
