It's cool. I'm good with these.

I’m trying the Allparts lightweight lollipop tuners on this jazz shaped object. It’s got SiT steels on it. They sound good for rock, but going to try a set of cobalt flats.View attachment 4760744

no real reason for posting this -- but it does have a T-bird in it

I was looking at this pic, and noticed how similar these actually are, for a change, instead of their differences....

:)

as long as it goes…

thump, thump, thumpity, thump, thump, clank...

This is the one I was trying to remember.
@Kriegs gave me his old T-Bird case, which was ultra-generous! I've had it lo, these last 4+ years. But gigs are a-comin', and a gig bag is going to be worth having. The price of the Thomann is a winner, but shipping overseas just isn't... The Gator might be a winner. I'm in control of a lot concerning cartage- no gp involvement like a subway ride presents, so a cheep bag can work.
Anyway it's nice to see options.
Mike is a good guy. Have you heard from him recently?

For the Dano folks. I’m not sure the La Bella white tapes are the right choice. Too floppy. I know that EBCF won’t work as previous owner said they were too brittle to go around the small tuners.

Any suggestions for flats that will work and fit the sound of the Dano?
I like chromes. And they’re not brittle like the EBCFs.

I have some in the drawer if I need them.

well poopie, I wish I knew they wouldn’t work! That’s what I got on mine.

OK, just ordered another set of EBCF. When they arrive, I'll need some guidance on the best way to change strings AND adjust the truss rod. I'm sure there is a best practice given the neck has to be removed...

Thanks. Maybe the previous owner did something stupid or maybe the E string was already damaged. Did you have to cut them down?
I wind EBCFs as per the special instructions that come with them. I had them on the ‘15 for awhile and they were really difficult to get wrapped correctly on the narrow Grovers. And man they’re brittle, so go slow.

I follow the EBCF instructions with all strings now. Seems to work well.
So far.

The Dano is a different animal. There is no top, vertical hole and groove and the tuning posts have a very small diameter.

Thanks. I’ll stick with the Epi case then.

I like the epi case because it was available, the best most wonderful case that makes you martini's does you no good if you can't find it anywhere. $99 from SW

I usually do a lock wind on thru post tunas, but the danny'lectro doesn't have space for it.

I just make sure to have 3 winds on the E post and 4 if I can fit them on the rest.

Since I don't ever change strings on base geetars the crappy danny'lectro tunas are just put up with.

I wish they hadn't modrendinized my neck, I prefer heel adjust. keeps all but the most determined morons from stripping the truss rod

Just to document the continued idiocy, otherwise known as FedMess. Delivered yesterday...

And yes, the moron left them at the garage door (to save a few steps), and yes we didn't know it, and yes we backed over them.... Talk to a wonderfully cheery person in India who kept mentioning that I should specify where I wanted package is delivered (we have with them). She said maybe it was someone new. I replied that this shouldn't matter whether it's a new moron or an old one, it shouldn't be left there. I told her I wanted to talk to someone in Louisville not another continent and that one shouldn't have to tell someone to not put a package by a close garage door where you can't tell if anything is there when you back out because you're not expecting someone with non-adult thinking skills to put it there. Fortunately it was popcorn from Walmart, but that's irrelevant.

And no those are not my feet or shoes. I'm not competing with Willy.
