Thunderbird Club

View attachment 4761899 View attachment 4761927 In the early spring I provided Mike Watt a new pg for his iconic Nonreverse Thunderbird bluey. Mike wanted the bass ready for a recording session. I sent along a Badbird Bridge but the anchors were so rusted installation had to wait till after the tour. I just heard from Mike this AM and man does this put a smile on my face
Very cool!

Is that a P-bass?

The finish looks like it got a beating and went a few rounds with a shredder, unlike it's designed like that?

It was owned by a professional bass-player from Portland - over 50yrs of player wear. After he passed away, it was traded by a couple of guitar shops before I bought it - but I'm the second 'owner.'

B-flat ... the man played a lot with bands w/horns

Are you going to restore the finish to its full former glory? Also what do you mean about bands with horns?

ah... no, I was initially drawn to it because of the way it looks. SHOW YOUR DISTRESSED FINISHES!

Horn arrangements commonly center around B-flat - for there to be that kind of fb wear, the player was 'visiting' that location... a lot. :bassist:

But they say they’re trying to cut down on drag racing……
We've had morons block traffic on expressways here of late so they can race and waste tires and create pollution, while hindering people from normal traffic. The police have been said to respond, "Yes, we know about it going on at that location." Someone with a beater pickup needs to plow into someone's hot-rodded Nissan. If done in some places here some traffic blocker is going to not go home the same as they left home.
