Thunderbird Club

As you might guess from looking at the rolled and pleated velvet interior, it ain't light. But it protects the 1967 NR Thunderbird from getting 'dinged'(any more than it already is, anyway)on the way to/from the gig. Luckily, it fits along with whatever other [stuff] I have to carry in the 'gigmobile'.

Left to right: mic and music stands w/duffel*; Epi EB-0(backup); Thunderbird in Coffin(TM) case; JBL EON ONE PA. Bass cases are on top of Rumble 100 bass amp lying face down just behind center row seats.
*mics, cables, lyrics book, (bass)guitar stand, other miscellaneous [stuff].
I thought that was the entire 7 piece band...

The good news is, you’re always welcome here. And even more so if you have a Tbird (bass).:D

Thank you, but the closest I can come is that I used to work for somebody who had a T-Bird (car). Actually it was his wife's car, and you should have seen the panic on his face when it started to rain one day :smug:

I don’t recall the Eppi Tbird limited edition having chrome pups and rings. Am I mistaken…

That's one version they did offer, those are guitar pickups. IIRC they did these in silverburst as well

^^^ that I could understand, but this was the modern version. I mean, not something you saw every day even then, but hardly precious.

oh yah - jeese-louise, I can't use the "U" word here (especially to a mod ;)) but the new version of the T-bird was/is.., aesthetically challenged... as in... what were they thinking?

I was ok with the new styling, assuming they had to meet crash protection guidelines and air drag goals, but they lost me (just like the Plymouth prowler team did) when they dropped a lame engine in it.

The born again Tbird was supposed to be a nod to the Gen 1 era, which had decent performance in its day. Instead of the retro nod, it looks like the design team nodded off during the engine spec discussion and the bean counters took over. Shame really. They could have had a real winner with a Ford 5.0 Coyote engine under the hood. And a Prowler with a Dodge Hemi under the hood would have caught a lot of attention as well.

Kinda like the latest Gibson NR release that tries so hard to be like the original in many ways, and completely misses the target in others. Three point bridge? Come on man! Even Eppi got that right.
