Thunderbird Club

We had either three or four in El Paso, plus a channel or two from Juarez.
In Augusta we only had two until UHF showed up. Not sure why they went with UHF. Maybe cheaper? That channel was certainly lower power and quality, from what I can recall. It might have been a college station. They occasionally did simulcast with a local FM station, so you could watch a concert and have better sound quality than you got through the TV,
We had seven channels in San Diego, including what we could get from L.A. We had three when we moved to Vandenberg. That's when I started reading a lot of books. Then we got cable and had 13 channels.

To those who offered support following my unexpected layoff from my employer due to a "reduction in force" aka RIF two months ago, I give you my heartfelt thanks. Today was was my last official day working for them. They did me a favor. After several interviews and negotiations with prospective employers, I accepted a better job today than the one I had. Thanks to all who were there for me and offered support in a very stressful time. It means a lot. And it is what this club is all about. Friendship and support. This club rocks!

Congratulations on the new job!!

If I hadn't just bought an SG style bass... (out for delivery today) ...that's pretty tempting. That one was like the model (abet being the EB2L) that I ordered new in '70 in trans brown. I ended up with a NOS '68 ss in cherry and I just accepted it. I didn't know they did the slotted hs in a ss, I thought that was only offered on the 34" scale. Anyway - a fair price for anyone interested. If I bought it I would strip the cherry finish and install a Guild Darkstar, maybe two!

Here's a more beat-up '68 husk on eBay -
