Well, there you go again....It's not that you're wrong, it's just that so much of what you know about Kentucky just isn't so. It's just not true. We would never settle a dispute with valuable stills. We are not heathen.

When a friend was in the Marines he would run into people (generally from up North) who really thought people went around barefoot and didn't have indoor plumbing. At first he thought they were kidding. And people think we live under rocks!

Not just a north vs south issue. I lived in Louisiana from 80-82 and when they found out I went to Cal, they always asked if we still had riots.

just a dig….plenty of riot activity in SoFl as well….flew into Gatwick with a very competent, older fellow engineer from Texas once, and the lady at customs asked him if massacres happen there often…..he turned red like a tomato…..I couldn't stop laughing….

I've been playing lthrough this new rig all day. The power tubes are the original Sovteks. Much past 9:00 o'clock is too loud for the basement.

The Berg cab is LAF. It is clear and punchy.

I like some of each of their stuff, but none of them are in my top 100 or whatever.

Springsteen and Matthews are 2* that, when they come on LSUG, I change channels.

I like some of the White Stipes songs, but not very many. I took my wife's cousin to a show because he needed an "adult" to take him. It was a fun show but did not convert me to a raving fan. The cousin is a total fan-boy and has been since the WS first hit the scene. I am sure he looks down his nose at some of my musical choices so its all good. @Chucky Stiletti and @BklynKen can vouch for some of my musical taste

yeah, if you recall (looked but couldn't find) one of their magazine adverts involved pictures of a 2000S into a 2 x 15 cab putting out a match….very effective marketing….my first rock rig was a white 4001 into a 2000S (paid 200 bucks for it) into a Sunn 4 x 12 cab……man! tone for days! really wanted a 2 x JBL 15 box but it wouldn't fit in the back of my 76 RS Camaro where the 4 x 12 would….

I can attest to the power of a 2000s into two matched cabs, haven't run that combo in a while, but even one cab is usually more than enough. One of these days I suppose I should rig together two of the heads and four of the cabs, maybe finish up restoring the 6x12 and other 2x15 and plug in the 1000s into those too while I'm at it. Might need to test what has better match extinguishing capabilities, a 2000s or a 361 or a 371...

loved mine, was so proud I mean, Geddy gigged one!…. stupid things we did back then….never did I anticipate that they would become so sought after….like most everyone else, we all transitioned to SS gear…can't really recall many bass players staying with those rigs forever with exception of guys with Marshalls like Lemmy or SVTs……wonder if Wetton would have stuck with Hiwatts had he stayed at it longer…..

Glad you're enjoying it! LAF is an understatement on that Berg cab, I A/B'd it side by side with an Ampeg 810 and the Berg just buried the peg, not even close.

That's the problem with weddings. They always think it's about them. The couple would actually be the easy part. It's the mothers you need to fear who are thinking they are getting to have their second wedding and will resort to physical violence to ensure their (oh, I mean the kids) day isn't ruined.
