Thunderbird Club

Same camp. I have it on a vintage white P bass and even on a Gibson EB5. I don't go out of my way for it, but if it's on, it likely stays on.
I get rid of tort for the most part. I have an acoustic guitar with a tort scratch plate that is glued on. It will stay. All else gets swapped out.

I much prefer WS - White Snake to WS - White Stripes. And since hair metal went out of style, I don't really listen to White Snake very often anymore.

Why listen to the hair metal Whitesnake then? I much prefer their pub rock years when the band comprised of ex -members of Oblivion Express, National Health, Snafu, Procol Harum and PAL (not to mention The Streetwalkers, Colosseum II, Cozy Powell's Hammer and yes, Deep Purple). They had hair plus moustaches and sideburns too.
Some songs sounded like Free, they had Leon Russell cover on their album and some downright jazz rock.

TT.

Testing out two new pedals I got today. Suncoast Analog TR3b is a 3-band EQ that is based on a Pearce BC1 EQ and also on a Lab Series which are my favourite amps. Sounded great and familiar.
Suncoast Analog HD-1 harmonic driver is again based on Pearce stuff and has also some Lab Series heritage. Yes, you can get that Billy Sheehan distortion but also Magma- style monstrous grunt. It was easy to dial in some Wetton/Crimson -era grind and with mixing the channels the low end is not lost. Depends on a gig I can see using it as an always-on "warmer" or just an effect when an overdriven sound is needed.

For those in the know: What are the "correct" pot and cap values for an old school 2pup 'Bird? I'm looking at doing a rewire but it's much harder to find the right info compared to a Les Paul!

PIO caps? Orange drops? Which ones? Pot values? Thanks!

A few special models/editions may be different, but afaik stock pots are generally 500k for Vol & Tone, with a .047 cap.

Older caps are generally orange drops, more modern ones are essentially the same, only a different color.

Hope that helps?

:)

Best worst wedding we've been to - bride's mom was opposed to the marriage. She showed up drunk at the smallish outdoor wedding. As the bride came around the corner of the mansion, the mom stood up and started screaming, "this is bulls&@t! It'll never work!" My wife and I were close by monitoring and started toward her, but her sister got there first and hauled her off. Every so often we'd hear her cursing from the other side of the building.
Self-declaring that she is a bad parent.

[soapbox]
Your job as a parent is to have your kid(s) not need you. If you have done your job as a parent, your kid(s) will make good decisions that will make you proud.

So you will be starting the "Tone is in the Capacitor Colour" club? Or are you planning on just starting another front in the tone holy wars?

With you on "Born to Run". I liked a fair bit of that album. Loved RGM.
Bruce stands right there with Neil in my book. BTR is a masterpiece. It ought to be, he took six months to record it. A lot of his work since Born In The USA (1984) is an eclectic mix of rock and folk. The Rising (2002) and The Wrecking Ball (2012) are great later albums. His live shows are amazing. I've been to several over the years and never been disappointed. He is the Boss.

His bassist for more than 50 years, Garry Tallent, is way underrated. Check out the Longhorn.

So was Mom right? Can't leave us hanging like that.
