South Omaha, got on the plane for boot camp and never looked back.

4015 south 24th St. (South Omaha) I was in 1st year art school in KC/MO the last year of the draft - luckily had a high #, unlike a few of my friends who went to extreme measures to get out of going.

I haven't looked up the weights yet. I'm afraid to. The head feels like it weighs as much as the cab.

Mine was right at 85#.
EDIT: the 810 cab was ~160.

Same camp. I have it on a vintage white P bass and even on a Gibson EB5. I don't go out of my way for it, but if it's on, it likely stays on.

I had a Kasino 200 head and cab. The 215 cab was about 150 pounds. I don't recall the SS head being too heavy

I like some WS, some Bob and some Bruce, can't say I like all their stuff and am not a raving fan of any of them but I'd rather listen to any of them than a lot of other stuff, real drums, probably not a lot of autotune, etc. I do think "Born to Run" was and is an almost perfect song though. Seger started out in the 60's with the Bob Seger System and had a hit in 1968 with "Rambling Gambling Man".

With you on "Born to Run". I liked a fair bit of that album. Loved RGM.

So, I have a question on the knob layout. I see on reverb a "brand new" NR with this same knob configuration and a "used" 2021 with all the knobs in a straight line. Did the owner of the used one swap the jack and tone knob? Best guess?

Someone else probably answered by now, but JIC… Gibson ships them both ways. No one here admits to knowing why. True story.

I was never crazy about their version of "I'm a Man" either, I did like most of their early stuff though, in fact I have CTA on cassette here now. I thought Peter Cetera was a great player, one of the best pick-style players I've ever heard, never mind singing like a bird while playing those parts. I like ZZ Top top but don't own any of their stuff, I should remedy that.

CTA is, IMO, one of the best albums of all times.
I mostly like "I'm a Man", but I would have liked a shorter drum break.

That's the problem with weddings. They always think it's about them. The couple would actually be the easy part. It's the mothers you need to fear who are thinking they are getting to have their second wedding and will resort to physical violence to ensure their (oh, I mean the kids) day isn't ruined.

Not this one! The couple is in their 30s and did it their way.

That's pretty funny - and sadly true. I've played formal gigs but never a wedding - but totally see your point.

I played cajon at a wedding. Three days earlier the drummer had a mountain bike accident and broke several fingers. I'd been playing djembe for a while and figured the cajon was an easy transition. It was.

Many players swap the the tone knob and jack as soon as they get them. Takes a few minutes. It's a popular mod.

I'd swap it the other way!

Good weddings are fun. Weddings with a lot of undercurrents are not as much fun.

Best worst wedding we've been to - bride's mom was opposed to the marriage. She showed up drunk at the smallish outdoor wedding. As the bride came around the corner of the mansion, the mom stood up and started screaming, "this is bulls&@t! It'll never work!" My wife and I were close by monitoring and started toward her, but her sister got there first and hauled her off. Every so often we'd hear her cursing from the other side of the building.
