That's funny. In the Sydney of my youth a lot of side streets (at the intersection with a main road) had a circular marker that stood an inch or two proud of the road surface. The idea being to stop people cutting the corner a bit on the turn.
They were known as "silent coppers". Coppers as in Cops as in policeman.
I am out in the outskirts now and I haven't seen a silent copper for a very long time.

Well, one of em anyway.
I just bought a new black headstock J neck for my Fender P/J bass, was expensive, 600 bucks but the bass is black and I wanted a J neck so boom. I likes 'em all, the big three, Gibson, Fender and Rickenbacker.

Oh I know, the drivers here just race from one to another, it does keep them from attaining terminal velocity though

ZZ Top is one of maybe a dozen or less bands that I can say I like almost all of their stuff.
Real close to being in the group of two or three that I like everything they've done so far.

Yes, some. Appalachia not so much which is the eastern parts of N. Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and on up to Canada, but I believe most of the larger mountains are North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky areas.
All the red is not tornado alley, which is more along the Mississippi and to west more than to the east.
I grew up in Omaha Nebraska at Nebraska's lower eastern tip. There were many times we went to our 'fruit cellar' in the SW corner of our house during tornado alerts. Our relatives west of us had their home 'lifted' off the foundation leaving them unharmed but home-less. There are 'tornado alleys' in many locations - it has to do with topography. (in a tornado's natural path)
