Thunderbird Club

Try some new rounds, Dunlop Super Brights, for instance. They say 'super bright' in bigger letters.

Flats are not known for sizzling highs, especially compared to rounds.

Basically i don't know what's my current strings, i bought my first Thunderbird used 2 days ago and i wanna start customize it to my style. But i have a Crews Maniac Sound Uncle HB bass and it has Ernie Ball strings too, although it's nickel wound.

i was thinking in Ken Smith strings too (especially Bass Burner NPS Series), all of them is round wound.

Not all birds, but on topic with the painted headstock conversation

Xmas present #2 (3? 4?, I forget) arrived Thursday!

The Performer, a Fender even Fender lovers can hate. Skinny neck, 24 frets, pointy headstock, weird shaped pickups, and Thunderous sound!

Made for less than a year in the 80s before they realized it wasn't playing any music on their cash register.

Most interesting 7ender ever made.........................Like Gibson, they're damned to fail when they try something different.

Well, a little different. In '84 they were in such bad shape they stopped manufacturing in the US, all production was being done in Japan. The Performer was designed by John Page to compete with Kramer and other glam stuff. Right after they went into production CBS Fender was bought out by a group of employees. They assessed the situation and realized they only had enough resources to focus on their core business...and it wasn't this.

I think it's the last creative bass design they did. The early stuff is so common we forget (or never knew for most of today's players) how cutting edge it was. I don't care what they do these days.

I also don't care what Gibson does. Their 'new' designs are also crap IMO.
