I paid too much for my oddball 650D but they don’t make them anymore…
You could play a window shade draw string and make it sound good.

Clearly based on an unbiased viewpoint as a seasoned player. Personally as a longtime player/maker - I only understand individual preference - not this stupid war against anything that isn't what one 'likes' - even if playful. It's just so unnecessary.

I probably have more FSOs than non FSOs, I just don’t play them as much any more. Coincidentally the FSOs that I do play more often have humbuckers. I’ve thought about creating a Fenderbird that utilizes fender humbuckers placed in fender locations, a fender neck, fender tuners, a fender bridge and even fender pots - all on a Tbird body. If successful I could actually retire my FSOs.
Slow Train gets a lot of grief for the lyrics but the music on it is funky and soulful.
And it should be, with Tim Drummond, Barry Beckett (Muscle Shoals), half of Dire Straits, and Jerry Wexler producing.
That's 'cos some people will complain if you hang them with a new rope.

I love their older tube amps and the Rumble series amps.
I have his post 2000 albums (cds) and I really like them. Blues based stuff.
My Dad used to say “he’d whinge if his arse was on fire”. I expect it has a similar meaning to your rope line, but I always thought I’d bloody whinge too if my arse was on fire!

One of the good things? about my new/old job is that it's an unwritten job requirement to be complaining about something (doesn't really matter what) most of the time.

Since it's a cheap no-brand body with rather strangely shaped pickup cavities I'm planning to mod it like this:

Yes, that's Richard Sinclair from Caravan/Camel/Hatfield & The North etc. The ubiquitous Canterbury scene bassist/vocalist supremo. He had his bass modded like this (J pickups removed and an EB-3 bridge pickup installed in between the J locations) for a short period of time (circa '74-'76). His sound on "The Rotters' Club" album (1975) is just magnificent. Like a Ric bridge PU (the location matches) with a P-bass beefiness.
