Thunderbird Club

I have his post 2000 albums (cds) and I really like them. Blues based stuff.

My Dad used to say “he’d whinge if his arse was on fire”. I expect it has a similar meaning to your rope line, but I always thought I’d bloody whinge too if my arse was on fire!
I'll have to take a look at more of his post 2000 music then. Sounds interesting.

I'm with you and fire near the hole thing. I feel confident your Dad wasn't speaking from personal experience. :D Then again, he may have been one of those blokes that was tough-as-nails. I'd scream like a little school girl.

Age has a way of changing things. When I was younger I had no problem palming a basket ball or throwing a perfect spiral. Nowadays I can barely do a death grip on a tennis ball. Big hands ain’t the key, I’ve seen little girls play 5 string basses without issues. Flexibility is everything, and unfortunately I’ve lost at least 50% of mine thanks to arthritis.

You need to say that like the old-timers: Arth-a-ritis. But it's no laughing matter.

Okay, the Chinese copy EVERYTHING… But this is next level!

Yeah, on recommendation of my sister-in-law, I was scouring Aliexpress to see what they have guitars-wise. Turns out that there's a whole lot of junk and a lot of trash, but there's some cool stuff in there too.

And then there's the outright, “***, am I really seeing this right?” ridiculous stuff.

And none more ridiculous than THIS…

A copy of Rick Nielsen's “Uncle Dick” twin neck.

Nielsen with the real “Uncle Dick” which is a 1983 made Hamer Custom number.

Apart from maybe a Cheap Trick tribute band or a collector who wants one for on the wall, I simply can't see somebody actually play this.

Yeah, doesn't look flattering, but that's his shtick. Wonder how it sounds unmodifyed.

Hey Thunderbird brethren, sorry I have been little missing in action. Last night was Nigel Tufnel with some pirate dude:

Rhonda Smith is an incredible bass player. Only one solo for her - but interesting and well done.

Last week was some little English band no one has ever heard of... Tin Ladies? Steel Women? Something like that. Bass player sounded like Pete Way.

I saw Tal here in SF a few tears ago at one of my favorite music venues (The Great American Music Hall) with her own band - hardly anyone there (most likely all bass-players!)... she rocked! :bassist:
