That's correct - it's all good if it leads to a positive result. One or two to upgrade I get, but buying a dozen $100 basses... (I've seen it on tb)

Very true. Poor pictures often are a means of hiding something.

Not always - some people (with all the easy ways available today) still can't take an in-focus pic. If I see an ad like that, I move on regardless of the intent. In fact, I firmly believe that if you are selling anything - the quality of your pics will sell the item.

Not knowing 1) when that pic was taken, and 2) if he bought new or used (or NOS) ... I can only speculate. But think about the time - the '63-'65 T-birds were not selling. (add to that him being in the UK) The possibility that he was able to buy a NOS reverse in the later '60s in the UK (or even in the US) for cheap isn't a stretch. Many of the now 'famous' players starting out (especially bass players) were pretty frugal (i.e., didn't have an expendable income) and if a bass could be had (that worked) for cheap - they were on it.

My point was that all of this considered, he most likely stumbled on a gen1 T-bird (slung/played backward) that ended up to be better suited for a left-handed player in terms of balance/ergonomics. It's premised
/based on my long held opinion as a dyed-in-the-wool T-bird player that it's a very cool looking/sounding bass with very obvious design flaws. If I made an authentic right handed gen1 T-bird w/the control-cavity reversed - I guarantee it would be a hit for left-handed players.

OK, so it makes a difference for guitar. Probably won't make one for me, but I had to play with it at that point.
Pulling my Phase 95 from before the volume pedal=>preamp pedal and sticking it in the amp's effects loop? Definitely more clarity.
Great. Now I'm arguing with myself whether I want a li'l baby snake between my pedalboard and amp!

Currently, I have three basses with dual single-coils, none honk - I try to avoid that sort of tone like....can we still say "like the plague"? Or do we have to specify which one, now? :unsure:
