One thumb up for every finger on the hand on the mend! Stick with the PT and all will be better in no time. :)
Ditto from me Geo. I’m a believer in hand/occupational theory too. I’m no doctor, but from personal experience and a few hundred cases over the with hand and wrist injuries, I’ve seen the positive difference it can make.

My dad was in computers in the 60s 70s and 80s and told us that learning to type was a waste of time. He had an argument with one of the teachers in high school about it too. Said that even through "computers are the future" there was no point learning to type as it was unlikely that everyone would have a terminal on their desk, only the secretaries would.
Thank goodness voice recognition has improved and computers can run it now.

Yes, yes and yes!!!!!!!
It will likely earn the top spot for live playing. At home mine is OK. Live...sonic bliss. Big sonic bliss. Some basses sound great at home and loose something live, and others sound average at home and dominate live.
I get what V’s saying, loads of clumsy folks out there…add alcohol….

Bolt-ons are are easier to repair, though, no?
Sure, if there’s something wrong with the neck and it has to be replaced. Neck through Gibsons and Epis are very solid, so long as you don’t drop them. For what it is worth, my neck through ‘15 is my best soundinng, most resonate and nicest playing of the ten Thunderbirds I own. It sounds great even when it’s not plugged in.

I’m resisting the urge to get a keyboard now for the Basement of Great Times. (I think I’m more of an optimist than Will is)! But I’ll wait a couple years. One of the requirements is emulating the Farfisa sound. Will this rig do that? This is how it looks now. There’s a huge old table in the corner from a prior owner that’s become a great spot to work on basses. It could become a recording desk. We’ll see. There will be new carpet, paint, bass wall rack. And a walled off area could become the guitar work area.

The Yamaha offers many voices, but a Farfisa isn't included. I bet I can find something close.

Baldwin is only a name change from when they bought Burns.

Exactly - is that your Baldwin Jazz Bass? Mine was missing the mute-bar, positioned under the scratch-plate. On some they were positioned on the scratch-plate. I should just make one of aluminum and polish it to look like chrome - it would be easy enough. You don't see many with the screw-down mute top section - most players removed it and ~poof~ gone forever! I was able to buy a new bridge cover from the UK and even scored the two small knurled bolts & inserts (NOS) like on this example.

Here's a lefty Vista Sonic with a complete mute positioned on the scratch-plate which was extended lower. Top part is a C-shaped bar with felt on the lower flat section. Two screws held it down over the strings. The fact that it wasn't on-off/adjustable while playing is why most were removed and lost. The original mute on Rics were like that - either on or off, no 'on the fly' adjustment. I have a thin piece of foam under the cover - mutes it just enough but lets the notes ring. (as much as flats ring!)

I will at some point, but my new bandmates are a bit exuberant during rehearsal and they don't realize how expensive or fragile that bass is, so for now it stays upstairs ( Not like I don't have a bass or two to play).
I have been meaning to post a shot of the finished basement, Frank did a great job! It's a bit "sharp" right now now, but its really a nice room to make music and model trains in - potential GTG site ( and sleeping area for Jeff ) too!

Beautiful! Frank’s hired! Let me know when he’s available. Free room and board, beautiful mountains and good company. Maybe Jeff can be his assistant. Is that the new ceramic wood flooring or actual wood. I’m assuming ceramic since there are no rugs.

You can't have him! He's all mine!
The flooring is actually just vinyl plank, which works pretty well down there.

I don't think the new NR pickups sound like TB Plus so much, comparing my '06 Studio and the 2021 NR is like Apples and Oranges to me.
Lull pickups are expensive, it seemed most everybody that played my '89 at the California GTG liked them a lot, I do know that they are available, you'd likely just have to call the shop directly to buy them. They are on my FB and regularly post shots of their PT series basses ( 7ender based designs) which utilize their Thunderbird pickup.
