I never owned one, but have played them a few times. Decades ago. They come up for sale from time to time. I'm not sure I'd like one if I played one today. They weren't offered but a few years (<4 or 5 yrs at best I would think).

It followed me home, you can visit with it anytime though!
It's been getting played at rehearsal - I had forgotten how nice it sounds in a band setting.
they weigh like 16 lbs…sound great though, one of the models had a three band graphic EQ….country bassists loved them…

Maybe contact the seller and ask if he would take what you have now? The price listed is the offer; you can bid what you would be willing to pay. For anyone in business, money now is always more valuable than money later.

I respectfully disagree. I think they were closer to 26 lbs!
I think they weighed as much as a Peavey T-40. Which says a lot! They were more of a county thing for some reason. I guess because Ovation acoustic guitars were often used in country. I never cared for them. I know that rounded back made them feel funny to play.

Glen Campbell was one of a number of guitarists who used their acoustics, and I think the electric version. Maybe not this one. I'm ignorant about how many models they may have had.

Oh yeah, they were common, I played with several guys who had them, they were good for not feeding back, I think that was something to do with the round back.

Well, we have had 1 rehearsal with the new lineup, it went good - there's lots of work to do to get it back to what it was, so I'm thinking March or April before we go out to play a 55 song night. The good part right now is our drummer, Pedro, he is really a solid, skillful player and a very nice guy. He really will make the band, the guitarist is reasonably good and will get better as she adjusts to playing more and singing less. I'm happy to be driving the bus again!

totally over engineered…three pups (piezo at bridge) stereo wiring…big mudbucker….they threw EVERYTHING at that design….that steel frame acting as pup mounts and thumb rest must have cost a fortune and that bridge! cool original styling as well…
To be fair, I am pretty quick in the water.
In my college dorm, someone gave me the nickname Mad Dog for raising a stink after they busted our screen launching a water balloon through it in the middle of the night (getting waked up wet didn't bring out the best in 17 y/o Miles). I just ran with the nickname. The first time a jock started hassling me, I started howling and picked up the steel chair that sat by the pay phone and through it into a closed door. That and the mystique building around the name took care of that.
