Each pickup has its own dedicated volume and tone control. The stacked miniature long shaft 250k/500k pots were not available on the market so I custom built them. It offers a HUGE array of sounds, and yet doesn’t deviate far in looks from a standard three knob bird, by far my most flexible passive Tbird….

Now there's a truly cool person. What kind of Thunderbird would choose him? I better not let the Flamingo see him, or it would be flying out, headed his way. That haircut outcools a plaid jacket and porno-stash by a mile.

He has(had?)tenor. The only way I can hit tenor-ish notes in natural voice is to back waaay offa the mic. And only on harmonies. If I'm singing lead, those notes sound strained(they are)and harsh(that too).

I can’t hit any high notes or any highish notes really. I joke that my high range is baritone.

But really I just have a crook voice and am a crook singer as well. Having said that I do ok on group singing…. The more singers you put around me the better I sound.

But now Church choir is back, and my little Vinnies group has restarted practicing I feel that my general health has improved.

*(Oh and ukulele group as well - it is a all comers group for our enjoyment not for setting entry standards or for playing to people, but we sing along while playing the (100) songs in our book).

LOL - truth be told, I would have never come up with that body shape for a bass if it had never been created in the first place. So hats off to Gibson for commissioning the design to an out of the box designer back in the 1960’s. The whole 3 pup thing and very unique wiring setup that I did is something that Gibson or Epiphone really needs to offer, it drastically adds to the flexibility and authority of the bass without sacrificing any of the good stuff we all love. Would probably add $150 to the cost of an Eppi VP or Gibby NR.

I've said that ever since I first saw a Firebird VII (a looong time ago).

I know one thing I like about those Epi's is the two piece bridge, no wound portion of the string, especially the E, riding over the saddles.

I remember the first time I saw a Thunderbird, it was lying on top of a counter at a music shop with no strings on it right around when I had first started playing, I thought it was the coolest looking thing I had ever seen.
