They do. Even flying solo in open air they make a crazy amount of noise. If in a tree and they go to take off it will scare poopie out of you. But they will bang into the fence trying to get in or out of the yard. After a while they remember they have wings and will fly over. They can get pretty high up in a tree if they want.

Friends took us a bit west of here to see bald eagles in the wild. They live at the top of a high cliff overlooking a valley where wild turkeys live. When the eagles leave their nests, they just drop with their wings out, then level out above the treetops below. Each time one of the eagles does this, the herd of turkeys runs frantically toward the farthest end of the gulch they're in, gobbling away. Glorious watching the eagles, entertaining watching/hearing the turkeys. (Mostly hearing.)

I can’t say I’ve ever been playing my VP and thought it lacked bass.

I have, although it got better once I got the pickup cranked up higher.

Honestly I like my Epiphone Vintage Pro Thunderbirds better than my Gibson 2022 Nonreverse Thunderbirds. It's better built and sounds better imho. To each thier own of course. If you want more bass out of the Epi 760 Probuckers I find the tone control very effective.

I hear you. VPs have most of that 60s live tone I'm used to hearing from my '64. Amp's have knobs for a reason! Bigness you can generally add, whereas a hollowness can't generally be reversed (maybe a multi band EQ would a little). GHS Boomers had some heft on VPs and get pretty close to the 60s reverse territory. I have GHS Precision flats on the white one and that sounds fantastic.

It's hard to put into words, but in my experience compared to the '64, they do lack some inherent heft or bigness. They are also brighter than either the '64 Thunderbird or Embassy. When I'm playing a VP am I thinking I need to fix something? No, I just enjoy the tone.

Now you have me thinking.
One of the outcomes I found with the BlingBird was the massive heft and fullness in tone the neck pup brings when placed up near the fretboard and blended in properly with the other two pups (and that was with Chinabuckers). I’d Imagine a VP with a third VP pickup added at the neck and tastefully blended in with the other pickups could possibly close that heft gap and bring down the brightness a bit.
Hmmmmm, I do have a couple of spare VP pups, and a VP, I wonder…..

I would say thicker and more mids. All mids not just one freq which helps them sounds really full. At least to me.

We have many Eagles here. My brother had an Eagle nest with a live cam in his backyard for a while.
